We will definitely be hosting another Green Smoothie Challenge in the future…maybe we’ll even up the duration and do 14 or 30 days! I would love for everyone to post their final “favorite recipe/mix” in the comments section so that it can live on as a resource for green smoothie inspiration in the future.
Also, let us know how the challenge went for you. Did you finish all 7 Days? Is there anything we should do differently in the future!
Thanks for playing along!
So excited that you used my Green Smoothie recipe! Loved your challenge and had so much fun trying different smoothies! Not to mention I have tons of energy and lost 3 lbs my swapping out for a meal! Fabulous idea 🙂
Thank you so much for posting my smoothie on here. I loved doing the challenge and trying new recipes. I would love to do more challenge type things in the future. Great way to get me motivated to try new things.
I got so many great smoothie ideas from this – thank you!
I did all 7 days (as a supplement to dinner and sometimes as a dinner substitute) and I used chocolate almond milk, chocolate whey protein, spinach, and various fruits (frozen and fresh). I never ended up with a green smoothie, more like a brown yuch looking thing but delicious just the same. I plan to continue the smoothie challenge for the rest of 2012.
I am going to use the smoothie as my recovery drink on my training runs for the MCM in October and I plan to have a much better time from last year and then blame you for my success.
You are such an inspiratioin to exercise and eat healthy everyday. I enjoy your blog and your blog is the first thing I read when I get to work (even before I read my email). I was introduced to your blog by runningforhht.com and we frequently discuss your blog at work.
I finished all 7 days! It was a little less fun that I’d hoped because the weather got really cold that week. But I love green smoothies, so it was worth it. 🙂
Oh I love this post!!! Great smoothie round up 🙂 I will definitely be trying some of these!!
I’m glad to see a recipe using frozen spinach – that is what I was thinking of using but I didn’t know how much or how to combine it with other things.
Just use a little chunk of it and throw it into any smoothie recipe. You can’t taste it 🙂
I loved this challenge. I’m glad that the Peanut Butter Monster could represent. Number 6- whoop, whoop!!!
I didn’t branch out much; made a similar “Green Monster” all seven days & enjoyed every one! I did almond milk, vanilla protein powder, peaches, strawberries & spinach. Can’t wait to try some of these great looking recipes!
All these smoothies look so delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipes, too. I need to make some more green smoothies! 😀
Thank you for featuring my smoothie! It was hands down my favorite of my 7 days.
I look forward to trying the other recipes above!
I would love a 14 or 30 day challenge! I might do that myself anyway, seeing as I need to progress a bit in making the smoothies taste better while still cramming in plenty of veg! Much experimentation needed. 😉
I ended up only doing 4 of 7 days. I leave for work before the kids wake up 3 days/week, so I didn’t want to turn on the blender (actually, magic bullet) and risk waking them up. And I just didn’t feel like smoothies after work (right before dinner). Plus, it was cold this week.
But 4 out of 7 is pretty good for someone who’s never had a green smoothie before! I stuck to spinach, skim milk, ice cubes, banana, and vanilla protein powder. Twice i poured it in a bowl and put some granola in — that was my favorite way to have it. Somehow a smoothie just doesn’t seem like breakfast when I drink it!
