This post is sponsored by Mirum Shopper but all opinions and this killer core workout are my own.
No matter if your workout of choice is running, yoga, lifting, CrossFit, cycling, boxing, hiking or just hitting the gym, it’s safe to say that you need a) a strong core and b) a deodorant or anti-antiperspirant that helps you stay fresh through it!
I’m partnering with CVS to bring you a 100 rep core workout that you can easily add to your routine when you need a short boost of core work. I use this one all the time with my clients and classes and I always get a big groan at the end of it…which is a signal of a good burner! Keep reading after the workout for a super helpful quiz from CVS that can help you pick the right deodorant for your workout.
100 Rep Core Workout
Here’s the 411 on the workout…you’ll do eight exercises that will come together to bring you 100 reps of fun! Two of the exercises require you to do them on both sides so that’s how 10 reps of eight exercises comes out to 100 total. Check out the graphic above for photo demonstrations of each exercise and here’s a video with demos of each. (Note: I’m only doing 5 reps of each exercise in the video in the interest of time!)
Now, let’s talk about the summer sweat factor, because I’m feeling it something serious. I’m just returning home from a trip to Florida where I (heavily!) sweated my way through two super humid and hot runs and a 90 minute yoga practice.
Sweating is actually an awesome thing that our bodies do to cool down. Our brain sends signals to perspire, releasing a clear fluid from over 3 million sweat glands and as the fluid evaporates from our skin, it lowers our body temperature. Did you know that sweating starts as soon as a few months after being born?
We definitely don’t want to STOP the sweating since it’s so good for us but we do want to stay as fresh as we can through it.
I recently took a quiz from CVS Pharmacy about my workout preferences and the best deodorant choices for them. Not surprisingly, the quiz told me I was a yoga girl. 😉
The quiz suggested Dove and Degree deodorants so I headed to CVS to pick them up. I have now used the Degree® Women’s UltraClear Black + White Antiperspirant per the recommendation for my Florida runs and yoga practice and love it. Some of the features of the deodorant include…
- MotionSense technology that keeps you fresher with every move
- All-day fresh and airy fragrance with a clean feel
- 48-hour protection against sweat
The quiz also gave me a ton of information about different deodorant options for my personal level of sweat along with product information. Check it out if you’re in need of some guidance!
One of my favorite things about shopping at CVS is that I can always find a great deal on what I need. They are currently offering select Dove and Degree deodorant products buy 1, get 1 50% off with card but hurry and get there as the offer expires on May 20!
Do you regularly include core work into your routine?
Do you find that you sweat more during your workouts in the summer months or are you and all-year heavy sweater?
Which workout were you matched with in the quiz?
Hi Jen! I loveee working the core. It helps with so many other facets of life as you’ve mentioned. I used to use Degree, among other popular brands of antiperspirant/deodorant and loved them. However, after seeking out a more natural way to deodorize and stop sweating, I’ve fallen in love with all natural ingredient deodorizer sticks that work just as good. Less chemicals and you don’t have to worry about ANY harmful side effects!
Wishing you the best,
J
Thank you for your feedback! I’ve had a really hard time finding a natural product that can stand up to the amount of time I spent teaching and practicing in a 100 degree room at 65% humidity! ? And the teacher cannot be smelly!
Ah I’m already feeling sore just looking at this workout! I need more core exercises in my life since I tend to just stick to planks. This it awesome!
I’m a plank girl too but sometimes I just love to add some crunches into the mix!
You always do sponsored posts in the most tasteful and best way! You actually provide some original content and it doesn’t seem overly pushy. Just had to give you props on that! I know they’re a required part of blog life, and while usually they’re not my favorite at all on other blogs, yours just don’t rub me the wrong way! Kudos to you!
Hey Laura – I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this. I effort to only partner with brands/companies that are a good fit for my blog and to space them out a good bit. And when I do commit to sponsored posts, I really, really effort to make the content as valuable and natural as possible. I’m glad to hear that it’s translating well to my readers. Thank you for this feedback!
Hi Jen! Just wanted to say this is the first time I’ve been to your blog and I must say it’s quickly going to become a favorite of mine! I love the workout, looks like a ton of fun, and I have to agree with Laura that this post doesn’t feel pushy at all. As a newbie (like super newbie!) blogger, it’s really awesome to find someone like you who provides great content and a sponsored post without making it feel completely fake! I’ll be trying out this workout this weekend for sure! Thanks again, and I’m sure I’ll be back 🙂
