Happy weekend!
I woke up starving Saturday morning. You will all be so proud…I mixed up breakfast a bit this weekend (no oats!).
Toasted 12-grain English muffin, almond butter and Crofter’s with cantaloupe and black coffee on the side.
I thought about going to yoga or running yesterday morning but I really wasn’t feeling it. I haven’t had a rest day in over 7 days so I decided to listen to my body and take the day off. It was glorious! Instead, I focused on packing and then made a trip to the mall and Earth Fare while Brandon was playing golf. Before I went to the mall I fueled with a Green Monster. (I swear – I’ve never had as many of these in a week as I have this week. My appetite has just been weird.)
I NEVER shop so the mall was a splurge. I scored some yoga pants 50 percent off at Dick’s and also got a cute yoga top and an UnderArmour dri fit shirt on sale. Then I stopped by Ann Taylor Loft because they were having their Friends and Family weekend and I had a 30 percent off coupon. They have the cutest things right now. I bought three tops – all work and play appropriate!
While I was at the mall I got a small vanilla chai soy latte from Dilworth Coffee. Yum – I love these things – Starbucks doesn’t hold a candle.
After I left the mall I headed over to Earth Fare. They always have the best coupons and this week’s was 20 percent off bulk + a free Earth Fare tote.
The damage: quinoa, whole wheat cous cous, roasted pumpkin seeds, Tahitian vanilla granola, chick peas, trail mix, Chia seeds and a new flavor of Crofter’s. Can’t wait to try the chia seeds in my oatmeal. More info to come about them soon.
I was going to cook last night but our kitchen was a wreck from packing. We decided to keep it simple and order a pizza from Portoifino’s.
A terrible shot of my dinner but it was so delicious! Pizza, salad and delicious red wine that I picked up at Earth Fare.
This wine was only $8.99 and an easy drinking wine. 88 points from Wine Spectator – great value. It was the perfect accompaniment to our night on the couch. Office + 30 Rock on DVR and then we decided to rent New Moon. It was cheesy but oh so entertaining. I still love the books so much more though.
I had two past prime bananas this morning and decided to whip up some banana bread. I am excited share that I didn’t use a recipe – just kind of winged it – and it turned out fabulously.
Banana bread topped with almond butter and Crofter’s (shocker 🙂 ) with cantaloupe and coffee on the side.
We’ve been packing most of the day. I finally took a break to take Sullie on a run and blog. I’m about to go to my FAVORITE hot yoga class at Charlotte Yoga – Suzanne is amazing.
Hope you’ve all had a fabulous weekend. We are officially closing on our new house Wednesday! I’ll do my best to keep the updates coming this week but it’s going to be a crazy week!
