Part two of Christmas is all about the love. Love for being at my grandmother’s house like we have been almost every year for 30 years, love for having sweet children around and seeing their joy and excitement and love for having all of my family together in one place.
Here are some of my favorite photos from Christmas 2013.
Two goldens vying for my grandmother’s attention…and her popover.
Annual Christmas Day run. It’s a tradition. Get up, get moving and get your mind right for the day! Around 4 miles covered and it felt ah-mazing.
Christmas chaos began around 1 p.m. We have a tradition that one of the grandchildren (or now great grandchildren) acts as the “Christmas elf” and wears a Santa hat and passes out the presents.
The pups were there in full Christmas gear and ready to partake in the action. This is my parents golden Sam.
And my golden girl got a little worn out by all the craziness.
She retreated under the table and stayed there for hours. Sweet girl.
After years of longing for a Vitamix, I finally got one this Christmas. (Tip: you can get a refurbished Vitamix that comes looking brand new with a five year warranty for a nice discount!)
And I also got a hard shell Tumi suitcase that I’m pretty much head over heels for . I don’t know if I’ll ever fly with for fear that it will be beaten and abused.
Watching the little ones open their gifts was AMAZING. Happy, happy girls!
My nieces received these pillow/sleeping bag combos that they could not get enough of.
And the littlest baby was nothing but smiles all day too!
My Mema was thrilled to get a new Kindle.
And my mom loved the new scarf and hat I got her to warm her up during cold weather beach walking at home in Florida.
It was such a fun day having the kids around. Totally changes Christmas.
Of course I had to get a Christmas day pic in with my best girl.
And my cute niece. Family resemblance much??? 😉 Love her.
Table set for 15.
And a happy Mema at the end of the day. We were all SO lucky to be there together at her house. It was truly a Christmas to remember.
So many goldens!! And what a nice gift! A Vitamix? so exciting! Can’t wait to see all of the new smoothie recipes ahead! 🙂
Looks like a wonderful Christmas. What camera do you use? Your pictures look so crisp. I’m in the market for a new camera and really like your quality.
nikon d3100 with a 50mm lens. love it.
my family has started the tradition of a holiday 5k too! it’s so nice to get outside on christmas day after all the eating and lying around. I love the your christmas day outfit too!
thank you! 🙂
I love that blue long sleeve workout top! great color
it’s the lulu run swiftly long sleeved tech shirt. i LOVE it!
It looks like a great Christmas! I think there are lot’s of families who have a tradition of running on Christmas because my neighborhood was full of them! It’s great seeing families using the holidays to be active together.
WHEEERE did you get the brown scarf you’re wearing and the scarf you got your mom?
We sprang for a (refurbished) Vitamix in 2010 and couldn’t be happier with our purchase! You’ll wonder how you made smoothies before 😉
Is Mema wearing TOMS? She is so hip…
yeah girl. she’s awesome! 🙂
I always run 4 miles before the festivities begin, no matter what the temperature. It seems to be the perfect amount and makes just enough room for all of those cookies. 😉 Love all the pictures of the goldens. Holidays tire them out too! XOXO
Wow a Vitamix!!! I am jealous!
I didn’t know you could buy them refurbished so I am definitely going to look into that!
The pups look so cute and I am happy to hear that your running has been feeling better lately! It’s such a nice feeling to go out and just have a good run 😀
I was definitely feeling the love this Christmas also. The food and gifts are nice and all, but it all comes down to surrounding yourself with loved ones and enjoying the moment. I’m glad you enjoyed your holiday!
Aww what a great Christmas! You’ll have to do a review of the Vitamix… I’ve wanted one for a while now but they’re definitely pricey!! From what I’ve heard they’re totally worth it though.
We always had a tradition that the youngest (aka me) got to pass out the gifts on Christmas morning. Lol not sure how fair that was, but luckily no one complained 😉
I am pretty much in love with your outfit… those boots and scarf are adorable!
I’m glad you had such a nice Christmas. Kids really do make the holidays that much more special. I love seeing my niece and nephews so excited for Santa.
I love my Vitamix! I hope you post some recipes that you use it for!
I have a large tumi similar to yours that I love… I promise yours will be getting beat up and the first couple trip are painful.. I’m still sad everytime i see mine come off the conveyer belt.. Stay strong!!!
