I’m back with another yoga flow video, as promised. This time instead of a deep stretch I’ve got a 30-minute fast power yoga flow for you. I’m working on a new yoga project behind the scenes and I can’t wait to share the details with you guys very soon! ๐
Let’s talk about what to expect from this flow. It’s similar to a warm up that I would teach in my normal classes where the flow is close to one breath per pose. The faster flow allows you to build heat through movement and breath and also provides a little more of that workout feel that so many love to get from power yoga.
The flow features three rounds of mini-flow that are repeated three times through and in between each there are active rest breaks for things like forward folds, twists, low lunges, side body stretches, etc.
I would say that a basic knowledge of yoga postures would be helpful for doing this flow. Don’t be discouraged if you try it and feel a little lost the first time. You will quickly pick up on the overall pace and rhythm of it all with some repetition! And for those of you who want a slower flow, don’t worry…I’ll be posting some of those too! ๐
The flow also includes core strengthening exercises, a ton of chaturangas for upper body strengthening, backbends and a short floor stretch at the end. YAY!
30-MINUTE FAST POWER YOGA FLOW VIDEO
Here’s the video! I am demoing the flow (I think I was 24 weeks pregnant when I filmed this FYI) and I recorded the audio instructions over it. The flow has no music but feel free to add your own playlist if you’d like. I have hundreds on my Spotify account so go check it out!
As always, I’m open to your feedback and suggestions so that I can make sure that I’m delivering yoga flows and workouts in ways that are most helpful to you!
What’s your favorite style of yoga?ย
Great flow– it had some interesting transitions (lunges to Warrior three; transitions into side plank). I really enjoyed the pushups. I used the Lovesick series soundtrack playlist on Spotify (I hightly recommend the music and the show on netflix). Have you thought of doing a podcast yoga class, or even a recording of one of your classes at the studio?
Hi! Can you link to your blog post with the yoga stretch video? Thank you ๐ oxox
I loved this class!!! Thank you for posting and I hope you post more. I will say though (and Iโm sorry to be critical) that I hope you are modifying more for pregnancy now. Iโm a Pilates instructor and I did hot power yoga through 3 pregnancies (up to month 8) and watching you do some of those moves made me wince. Everyone will understand if you modify stuff-your voice instructions can explain different levels or modifications!! Please go easy on your body and give your little one space!
Thanks so much for posting this video – I loved the flow! Both videos you created recently have been great. I look forward to more ๐
I second that!
Me too! ??โโ๏ธ Luuuurve these videos! Thank you!
Absolutely loved this flow!! After practicing yoga in a studio regularly for 8 years I am working on building an at-home practice now that I have a baby and need to fit in my workouts/yoga when she is napping. This practice was perfect for during her naptime today and totally made me build up a sweat. Please keep the 30 minute flows like this one coming!!
Iโve always wondered what it would be like to take a class of yours โ thank you for this!! Your voice is so clear and soothing at the same time.
Thank you Jen!
I am always trying to find good (hard) power yoga flows online. I often do series off of your IG account, but it easier to follow when it’s verbally cued.
PS: I would totally pay $$ to download a 60 min class of yours.
Ahh thank you so much! I can’t wait to try. Probably this weekend. I just tried your new 12-minute post-workout flow and loved it. <3
Love the fast pace of this flow. I have some work to do to get into all of the poses but it felt great, thanks!
I have been doing this flow every day for the past couple of weeks and love it. I’ve always wanted to take one of your classes, but don’t live in Charlotte. I’m looking forward to hearing about this project you’re working on!
Love from Baltimore, MD.
I’m SO happy to hear this! Lots more coming very soon!
