Hey, hey! My Tuesday got away from me…one minute I was making tea in the kitchen at 5 a.m. and then I blinked and it was 8 p.m. and I was standing in the same spot prepping dinner.
Today was jam packed with client training sessions, teaching yoga, a 2-hour extravaganza at the dentist (ugh…two cavities filled…recommitting to my Sonicare and twice daily flossing) and some QT at the Y for the first time in forever (for my own personal workout too…double awesome)! Minus the dentist experience, it was a great day.
I have a lot of great stuff coming up to share with you this week…get ready for posts about how to pre-order my plank book (!!!!!!!), my experience starting to juice, my review of the resort we visited in Punta Cana, a cool opportunity for my fellow fitness pros, Valentine’s Day food and workout ideas and more!
But for today I have some really fun 50 Shades of Grey workout inspiration to share.
In preparation for this week’s launch of the 50 Shades of Grey Movie, SELF Magazine is hosting “50 Shades of Glutes” on their workout page. How awesome is that? Every day this week they are posting 10 glute enhancing exercises that feature a new prop each day…dumbbells, chairs, medicine balls, bodyweight and a table.
I’ve checked out the first two days of 50 Shades of Glutes and love the dumbbell and medicine ball exercises included…and plan on stealing a few of them to use with my clients! I haven’t posted a workout for you lately but I highly recommend that you check these out!
While I haven’t read 50 Shades of Grey (and I’m not so sure if I want to)…I can certainly get on board with 50 Shades of Glutes. Y’all know how much I love all things squats, lunges and booty shaping! 🙂
What is your favorite way to work your glutes?
Have you read 50 Shades of Grey? Do you plan on seeing the movie?
I love the results I see and feel from Pure Barre for the glutes (they refer to the glute exercises as “seat”)….Definitely a great workout where the changes are noticeable! I have been doing it regularly since July but can say I think I noticed a difference within the first three weeks!
i have not tried pure barre! that’s awesome that you saw results so quickly!
OMG. You seriously haven’t read it? You must!!! Just for the pure fun. The writing isn’t the best but it is such a great easy read. Def seeing the movie! I can’t wait to hear people gasp in the theater!!!
I haven’t! I think I am missing out!
Basic squats and lunges are my go-to moves, but I love variations too! You do have many exciting things coming up 🙂
cannot go wrong with those. my #1 piece of advice when it comes to shaping the upper leg and butt is always “Squats and Lunges!”
Def single leg squats!
yes! i am always so sore after doing a bunch of those!
I like the look of that single-leg deadlift into lunge move, I will have to remember that one.
I have not read 50 shades and am not really interested in it, I’ll wait and see if it’s worth the hype.
i love single leg deadlifts. so effective…and love combining two movements into a compound exercise!
I did some weighted glute bridges using a bench and my oh my those things are good! I was sore two days after!
I’m honestly tempted to read the books, but not sure I will or will I see the movie…who knows though! I love booty exercises…I actually did a bunch this morning for my treadmill workout…Work it! 🙂
I have not read the books and don’t intend to. I may be too much of a prude! Ha.
I have a question for you. I’ve been working out with a few co-workers and we used one of your tabata workouts (thanks!), but there’s a woman who has back issues and she wasn’t comfortable with burpees or mountain climbers. Do you have any options for me to offer her? Thanks!
I love using the TRX for pistol squats, man oh man, do I feel those the next day.. SO great
Thanks for sharing the glute exercises. I’m always looking for new exercises to use in my classes.
I have not read the books. I picked them up in Target and read the first couple of pages and the writing was atrocious!!! Not interested.
