Happy weekend! We’ve stayed very busy with mostly fun activities but it has definitely not made for a relaxing or restful weekend.
Friday night we stayed in and worked on the house. We hung mirrors, pictures and curtains in the master bedroom. So happy with the progress. We had a late dinner of burgers on the grill.
I whipped up some herb mayo with fresh herbs from our garden.
This mayo added so much flavor to the burgers.
The full spread was burgers (my first in many months but we used organic ground beef), grilled mushrooms, peppers and onions and Alexia’s Spicy Sweet Potato Fries. This was our first time trying this variety of sweet potato fries and they were really good. They had the perfect amount of spice to give you a slow burn.
I was up bright and early Saturday morning for a BodyPump quarterly release and advanced training for instructors. We did a master class or BodyPump 74 and then talked for a while after about the release and how to coach our participants and make it a success. The master classes are so motivating because you have BodyPump national trainers teaching the class to a roomful of instructors. We all love BodyPump so there’s tons of yelling and singing along.
Overall, I like BodyPump 74 – the lunge track is killer and the bicep track is really fun and provides a lot of opportunities for class interaction. We’ll be launching the new release at the Y mid-July. I’m part of the launch team and I can’t wait!
We had a wedding to attend Saturday afternoon.
It’s impossible to get a serious picture when my husband and brother in law are in the same shot!
I didn’t have time for lunch between BodyPump and the wedding so I had this plate of food at the reception + one more pimento cheese sandwich.
After the wedding we came home and crashed for an hour before heading over to my brother in law’s house for dinner. I slept so hard that when I woke up I felt like I could have slept all night. This is why I am not a big fan of naps! A lot of times they make me feel even worse!
Reade (brother in law) is in his third year of back yard gardening. He has an organic garden going and it’s doing really well this year. He’s doubled it in size and planted some great stuff.
We came home with a giant zucchini, green tomatoes and jalapenos.
I spent a large majority of the night talking to my sister in law, Alicia, about yoga. She’s been enjoying some beginner-level classes at the Y and I’m trying to convince her to try a hot class with me at Y2! She might come with me on Wednesday. Excited! 😀
Dinner from the grill…
I love summer!
And now I’m in a huge hurry to publish this post and meet a group of bloggers for a run and lunch. Should be hot, sweaty and fun!
