Hi and happy Friday! I’ve had a really good week…work was steady busy but not crazy busy…which is always nice. I’ve REALLY been working on cutting back and being smarter about how I arrange my schedule. It’s working!
This afternoon I had the BRILLIANT idea to add chocolate chips and dried cranberries to my peanut butter granola. I left out the chia seeds because after I added chocolate…what was really the point? It definitely crossed the line from marginally healthy to dessert-like!
I had a fun week in regards to yoga. First, I practiced every day but Thursday and second, I had some “celebrity” yoga experiences.
I was super pumped to have Carson Clay Calhoun and his girlfriend drop in for my 5:45 p.m. hot vinyasa at Charlotte Yoga on Thursday evening. They were stopping through Charlotte on their way to Charleston and asked on Instagram for yoga class recommendations. I was flattered to have my class suggested by several and even more flattered that they came! His practice is beautiful (as is his girlfriend!). The highlight of the evening was when he said my music was perfect…the songs, the volume, the beat. (Y’all know how much time I put into my playlists!) He said, “it was bumping but I could still hear every word you said.” I work hard on finding that perfect balance! 😉
And today I got to practice yoga with Andy Grammer! He took the class with us and then sang his new song “Honey I’m Good” during savasana. I’ve been lucky to hang out with Andy a few times over the past few years and attend a lot of his shows and he is an all-around great guy. Super personable and really, really talented. I am always amazed by his voice when he starts singing.
The other highlight of my week was this. I train clients at 5:30 a.m. every morning at Metro Fitness Club and one of our members who always works out at that time was telling me about his new puppy. I begged him to bring her in and OMG…is she not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen!? Those wrinkles! Her name is Lily and she’s an eight week old shar pei.
While we are on the topic of dogs…and Instagram…
I have had multiple people suggest that I make a separate Instagram account for the girls. I scrolled through my feed and it definitely is a little heavy on the golden retrievers. Thoughts about that? Do you like the mix of everything or would you rather see more food and fitness on my personal Instagram and a Sullie + Zoey golden retriever extravaganza on another account? As much as I want to believe that everyone is as big of a dog person as me…I know that’s not the case! 🙂
By the way…I am obsessed with Instagram. It’s definitely become my top social media pick. I can’t even handle Twitter anymore. It happens too fast and is too overwhelming!
Have a fabulous weekend!
Separate puppy Instagram…yes or no?
Favorite social media site?
I say keep it mixed, it’s nice just the way it is!!
Please keep the pup pictures on the website also. I am not on instagram (technology overload) and I love seeing their pics!
oh i definitely will noreen! 🙂
Definitely keep the Golden pictures!!
I like the mix of pictures on your Instagram, including the pups!
I’ve heard so many people say the same thing about Twitter and I agree. I like that on Instagram, posting once a day or every other day or so is normal, but on Twitter, people tweet upwards of 5-10 times per day! Phew.
Keep the mix of pictures on Instagram! I like the variety and love seeing pictures of your dogs!!!!!
yay! thanks!
I like insta the way it is now!
Keep the mix! If people don’t want to see the pups, they can scroll by them! 😉
thank you!
I have a separate Instagram for my dog – a 3 yo Labradoodle – what started because I was posting too many dog photos became a fun place to connect with other dog lovers 🙂 either way, keep up the dog photos!
thanks for the feedback! 🙂
I say keep the pups! But my instagram is 80% Labrador pictures, so I may be biased
haha! let me make sure i’m following you! 🙂
I say keep your instagram the way it is now. I love the mix!
thanks joy!
Keep the pups!
Look at you bumping elbows with celebrities! Whoop! I say keep one account. Mixes are good!
I like it the way it is. I say keep the mix! and the GRAM is definitely my favorite social media too!
that puppy! those wrinkles!
I like it mixed, adds more variety. Plus, that way, less to manage.
yes…knowing me the management of two separate accounts would mean one would get neglected!
Have you ever thought of doing a yoga class without music? Definitely the puppies mixed in with everything on Instagram is fun!! Have a great weekend!! 🙂
hey shannon! i’ve taught without music a few times but it’s not the norm for me. both studios that i teach at actually require music as part of the class parameters…we do have a baptiste studio here in town where classes are taught with no music. and when i practice ashtanga it’s usually with no music. i love it both ways for different reasons but definitely prefer music when teaching. i think it adds a lot to the class. i usually turn down the music or turn it off during times when i really really really want them focusing on breath.
wow, that was a long response! 🙂
I love the puppy pics! I like the combination and seeing different posts from you on Instagram. My vote is to keep it the way it is!!
PS: Very jealous about Andy Grammer! I saw him a few weeks ago in concert in San Francisco. He is just the best. Love his voice and personality!
thanks for the feedback! yes, andy is the best…super great guy!
What a fun week! And definitely keep the doggy pics! They’re too cute!
Do you add your chocolate chips after you bake? Or before?? Love the granola recipe and the addition of chocolate… mmmmm!!
i added them in before baking! it was perfect because they kinda melted in a little bit. yummmmm
If you end up making a different account I will definitely be following because I love dogs, too!
i share all of your interests: dogs, fitness, yoga, etc. so I say keep it all in one. It’ll also make your life easier. Your Goldens are so adorable!
I like the mix. Lily is so cute I can’t even stand it.
Definitely keep the pups! I think it’s a perfect mix that you post.
