Hi friends…this week has flown by – I can’t believe tomorrow is Friday. I’m so ready for a short week next week!
I dragged (when I say dragged, I mean that I hit the snooze button several times and seriously considered not going) myself to ashtanga this morning. I rolled into the yoga studio wearing my bedroom slippers (to be fair they are boot-esque), an oversized hoodie and gloves. It was ridiculous. As always, I was happy in the end that I practiced. I always leave grateful for starting my day in such a positive, self-honoring way. And I got to work on my favorites today – lots of backbends, handstands and other ashtanga craziness. Promise video soon.
Breakfast was overnight oats at my desk and then meetings all morning. I ran home for lunch and made a veggie burger.
Amy’s All-American Veggie Burger (more expensive than Morningstar and Bocca but 100% worth it) on a whole wheat English muffin with avocado, sprouts, spinach and pepperjack. Half of an organic apple on the side.
I am a big hot tea drinker (thanks to my mom!). My routine is to make a cup of tea as soon as I get back to work after lunch. This week I have been loving a new seasonal tea that I picked up last weekend.
Trader Joe’s Vanilla and Cinnamon Black Tea. This tea is tasty and really cheap. It is pretty strong so I make it in a big mug to take the intensity down a bit.
I packed a Larabar for an afternoon snack but never ended up wanting it. I know I’ve mentioned this a couple times but I can’t believe how much my appetite has decreased since the marathon. And did I really run a marathon three weeks ago? It feels like it never even happened…
I taught BodyPump after work today. I put together a pretty aggressive workout for my members – cardio intensive squats, lots of pushups and a really challenging back track. My co-instructor and I counted after class and we ended up making them do 45 pushups over the course of the night. Oops/awesome.
I arrived home from class to find a fire lit, music playing and Brandon cooking dinner. I am a lucky girl!
Grilled portobello (steak for him), grilled butternut squash and spinach salad with apples, dried cranberries, feta, carrots, pumpkin seeds and a cherry cider vinaigrette (I made the salad). A healthy but delicious dinner.
We just ate a couple Godiva chocolates – holiday vendor gifts have already started, eek! – and I’m about to call it a night. Early yoga practice tomorrow followed by a very busy day.
I ((heart)) those Amy’s veggie burgers! They are so worth the extra cost. So your appetite has decreased since you ran the marathon? Please God let that happen to me! Getting ready to run my 1st 5K on Saturday!
So sweet of hubby to have dinner preparing for you ๐ And my appetite has not decreased since the marathon, which really worries me!
I am forwarding this post to B in hopes of Brandon’s sweetness rubbing off on him. And that sandwich looks tasty!
That looks like my kinda dinner! I love Portobello mushrooms more than anything! ๐
I’m always the same with morning workouts! I hate getting up, and find it really hard to do so, but I’m always glad afterwards that I did! ๐
I love when my husband helps in the kitchen, too! The sandwich looks delicious!
