Hi friends! How was your weekend? Fabulous, I hope! ๐
As I posted yesterday, we traveled to Atlanta this weekend for a wedding and to visit my parents. It was a fun weekend full of friends and family.
Let’s start with the friends part and recap Charlie and Ashley’s wedding. Brandon lived in a house with four other guys our senior year of college. Brandon and I were getting pretty serious and I spent a lot of time at this house. I became really close to these four guys and have so many great memories of the house and all the fun times I had with them.
This was taken at our wedding three years ago and this year THREE more of them are getting married, with Charlie and Ashley’s wedding coming first.
The wedding was at 6 p.m. Saturday at a beautiful church in the heart of Atlanta. After the wedding we drove up to Roswell for the reception.
The festivities kicked off with a cocktail hour outside.
Mini crab cake, a fried artichoke heart and bruschetta.
There is simply nothing better than a good cheese plate.
The guys trying to come up with the most ridiculous poses possible for the camera.
We made our way inside for dinner and dancing. I had to snap a shot of the cake. I LOVE wedding cake.
First dance. Ashley’s dress was beautiful. I always think lace is so pretty. Notice the band in the background. They were amazing and kept the dance floor packed all night!
I had a “little of this, little of that” kind of dinner from the buffet. Oyster on the half shell, another fried artichoke heart and lots of chilled grilled veggies.
And shrimp and grits…the ultimate party food but oh so delicious! We served shrimp and grits in a martini glass at our wedding too! ๐
Cake + coffee because I was the designated driver for the evening. Someone had to do it and I’m not a fan of hangovers.
As the evening progressed, things got more and more entertaining.
The always popular, “Shout.”
A little bit softer now…
I got totally busted getting a second piece of cake. I looked up and Brandon was pointing the camera right at me! Wave and smile, I love dessert. No shame!ย ๐
Face smash into my handsome date. Such a fun night with old friends!!!
What’s your favorite part of weddings? Food? Dancing? Cake? Friends?
L.O.V.E your dress! SO cute!
thank you so much! can’t go wrong with j crew dresses. i’ve had this one forever!
Ooh, I love everything about weddings. I’m always comparing now when I go. ๐
My favorite part would definitely have to be the cake…and the dancing. (Have to burn off the cake!)
i love your line of thinking – cake then dance it off! ๐
Your dress is beautiful!
thank you danielle! j crew – love their party dresses.
I love food, dancing, cake, and friends! So I looove weddings!
GORGEOUS dress!! You look so beautiful!! Definitely best bit of weddings=cake!! Hehe I’m proud of you for going back for seconds- I did last time too!! ๐
I love weddings with live bands! The cake and dancing definitely make the night.
What a gorgeous wedding! I need some friends to get engaged STAT- I just love weddings- the food, the music (and that band looks like they would be GREAT!), and all the fun dancing with friends. Glad you had a fun time ๐
Love your dress!! You and Brandon look so nice together. I think this weekend officially kicks off wedding season! Isaac and I have at least 4 more weddings before the end of summer.
yes, we have several this summer too although weddings are finally dying down for us. we’re moving on to lots of baby showers now. scary!!!!!!
Weddings are so much fun! Can’t go wrong with playing ‘shout’ either. Your dress is beautiful ๐
thanks! j crew – they make the best party dresses.
First, I have to say that I’m a relatively new reader of your blog, and I LOVE it!! I’m also a runner at heart, and stumbled across your blog right as I began considering pursuing yoga teacher training…I consider it a sign. ๐ Second, beautiful photos of the wedding…I actually went to grade school through college (UGA) with one of the guys in your photos!! So funny.
jennifer – thank you so much for the comment. i love, love, love hearing from new readers…especially those who are fellow yogis! ๐ the best advice i can offer for teacher training is to GO FOR IT. i didn’t know if i was ready but it was one of the best decisions i ever made. truly transformational.
funny about the mutual acquaintance!
wheres your dress from? I love it!! ๐
j crew!!! it’s the silk taffeta lorelei dress. i got it a couple years ago on sale! they still make it in a bunch of other colors. check back often…certain colors will go on sale.
I seriously love everything about weddings. I am getting married next month and can.not.wait! Looks like you enjoyed a good one ๐
whitney – CONGRATULATIONS!!! we are about to celebrate our third anniversary. our wedding day was seriously one of the best days of my life and so worth all the planning it took. ๐
excited for you!!!
If I’m not mistaken, the guy on the far right in the top picture is from Macon – Adam? My sister and I went to high school with him and his brother! Small world!
yes – that is adam! i think he knows everyone ๐
Totally adore the last pic! You looked gorgeous – especially that green! Best part of weddings – THE dress and the look on the groom’s face when the bride walks down the aisle.
that totally would’ve been me-grabbing the extra cake ๐
love your dress!!
I live in Atlanta and I’m a new reader of your blog! I know Ashley! We were in the same sorority at Georgia! I haven’t seen her in forever! Small world!
jessica – that is crazy! thanks for the comment and happy to have you reading! ๐
