I have had a wonderful Thanksgiving Eve. It started bright and early with teaching my normal Wednesday 6:30 a.m. yoga class at Y2 but I was blown away to walk in and find over 50 yogis waiting eagerly on their mats to start their morning with a practice. I guess everyone was trying to get it in before cooking, travel, family obligations. Their energy was amazing and it was such a wonderful way to start the day. I have been focusing my yoga classes on practicing gratitude this week and I was definitely overflowing with it after class. I remain beyond blown away for the honor of teaching yoga.
I came home after class and got busy wrapping up packing. I stopped at Starbucks on my way out of town and picked up a coffee and a spinach feta egg white wrap. These are not my fave but with 19 grams of protein and just under 300 calories, they’re not the worst fast food breakfast.
Almost four hours later I arrived in Georgia at my grandmother’s house! She had this lunch spread of chicken noodle soup and pimento cheese waiting.
And some of my dad’s homemade sourdough. He’s been on a kick this fall with bread baking and has his sourdough down to a science. It was awesome!
We spent the afternoon chatting and decorating my grandmother’s house for Christmas.
Dinner tonight was beef Bolognese over fettucini and a side salad. Love this dinner. Such a treat!
And my grandmother cut into her Thanksgiving dinner carmel cake just for us and it was heavenly. Soft white cake with perfect caramel frosting.
So happy that I could get to Georgia to see my grandmother today. I’m driving to Atlanta tomorrow morning for a Thanksgiving Day flight to Punta Cana where one of my dearest friends is getting married this weekend. While I am so sad to miss Thanksgiving with family (it’s my FAVORITE holiday of the year), I can’t wait to celebrate this happy time with my friend.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
