I had such a fun weekend! As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, the weather was amazing so that always puts me in a great mood. It wasn’t a teacher training weekend so we enjoyed having a break from that. Also, I ended up having a lot of plans with friends and co-workers so that was really nice.
We planned on having a low-key Friday night with takeout and the couch because I had to teach a class in Fort Mill, SC really early on Saturday. We ordered a few things from La Shish Kabob on Postmates, including the vegetarian combo that I adore.
My friend Virginia texted to ask if she could swing by with her new puppy so that she could get some socialization time with bigger dogs. I ended up inviting Dorie over for the puppy cuteness too and it became an impromptu but fun night.
Viginia’s puppy is a 12 week old cockapoo that weighs all of 5 pounds. I was a little nervous to let them all play together since the girls are SO much bigger but it was not only fine but totally hysterical. After Sullie checked out Stella she was uninterested for the most part. Zoey, on the other hand, was all about Stella and we were cracking up over how brave Stella got and how sweet Zoey was being with her.
Listen for Sullie barking in the background of the video. She is the ultimate “big sister” and always alerts us when she thinks things are getting out of hand. She also does this when Zoey gets overly rambunctious with the pug. Love that sweet girl.
We took a break from puppy cuteness to eat. It was quite the spread.
I was up at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday to head to Fort Mill to teach a flow class at PushPointe. Class was great and I got to see some familiar faces. I stayed after I taught to take a TRX class.
I swung by the farmers market and Trader Joe’s after class. The highlight of my TJs trip was discovering this new mixed nut butter. I bought it and tasted it as soon as I got home. I can report that it’s delicious! Super creamy/spreadable texture and just the right amount of salt. I always find that Trader Joe’s really nails it on their salted nut butters.
I taught my regular 11:15 at Y2 and then joined Tanner for brunch at Namastay Kitchen. I had scrambled eggs over sweet potato hash with avocado and house-made sausage patties.
The remainder of Saturday afternoon was spent soaking up the sunshine. We took the girls to the park, took a nap and I ran 6 miles with the sunset.
I got dressed up to celebrate a friend’s birthday on Saturday night. We decided to keep the celebration girls only and it was so, so, so fun.
We ate sushi and all sorts of yummy apps, drank vino and chatted the night away.
I was super excited when it was cake time. I love the facial expressions in this photo. So much love and joy.
I had my first post-Whole30 dessert and it was everything I dreamed it would be and more. My friend said she got this chocolate peanut butter cupcake just for me. 🙂
I know all of these incredible ladies through yoga. Almost all of us teach together. We got so caught up in laughing, talking and celebrating that it was past midnight before we knew it. I didn’t make it to bed until 1 a.m. on Saturday.
I woke up with green juice on the brain after a rather indulgent Saturday night. I juiced kale, oranges, grapefruit, cilantro, kiwi, carrots and ginger.
I drank green juice and french press while I chatted with Tanner about my night on the couch and read a magazine. It was a super relaxing Sunday morning.
I brought back our avocado/scrambled egg/sauerkraut toast for brunch on Sunday with a side of fresh fruit.
We took the girls for a long walk after brunch because it was 70 degrees outside and too gorgeous not to get some fresh air.
Later that afternoon I met a group of Y2 teachers and staff for a workout at Madabolic’s new Elizabeth location. We had a great time sweating together in a different way! Always love the workouts at Madabolic and they have some of the best trainers in town. I love how thorough they are with their movement explanations and how much personalized coaching they do during the workout.
I wrapped up the weekend enjoying this awesome vegan spread prepared by our spa manager (she said the recipes were from the Thug Kitchen cookbooks). She hosted our studio management team at her house on Sunday night for an off-site team meeting. We are doing some big picture planning, role organization and strategy.
Needless to say, I crashed when we got home around 10 p.m. Loved this weekend so much.
Did you have a social or quiet weekend?
How was your weather this weekend?
Best workout of the weekend?
I had a quiet weekend with delicious food, couch time, and lots of “Homeland”. The weather was miserable, so I am very jealous of your warm, sunny, social weekend. HA! Glad your post Whole 30 dessert was DELISH! xoxo
Hoping you get some of that beautiful island beach weather soon. xx
Your posts always make me wish I had a Golden. Hopefully soon! I just completed the January Whole30, and my first dessert was chocolate/peanut butter too. Can’t beat that combo!
They are the sweetest dogs! 🙂 Congrats on your Whole30 finish! Hope you’re feeling good.
