The last three days have been full of celebrating friendship and love! It was the wedding weekend of one of my friends here in Charlotte. I met her through yoga several years ago we’ve since shared many sweaty practices, wine nights and experienced yoga in paradise on retreats. It makes me so happy to see my friends happy!
The wedding weekend kicked off on Thursday night with a girl’s night of crafting, wine and chocolate. As it usually goes in bride land, there were a few last minute details to wrap up. It ended up being a really fun night of laughter and conversation that got us all excited for the weekend ahead.
Here’s a look at photo highlights from the wedding and my weekend.
I taught a lot of yoga. I had the busiest Friday lunch class at Om Yoga since I started teaching there six months ago. I am SO GRATEFUL to be teaching at Om. It’s been nothing but a positive experience for me. I also taught doubles on Saturday morning at Om and my normal Sunday morning at Y2.
On Friday evening the bride and groom hosted a welcome party for all of the wedding guests at their house. She was glowing!
The party was catered by the Herban Legend food truck…which meant that I had to have the fried green tomato grilled cheese. There are not even words to describe how delicious and over the top this sandwich is.
I hit up the farmers market on Saturday between teaching at Om and the wedding ceremony. I picked up local ground beef and chicken from my favorite farmer, tomatoes, kale, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, heirloom cherry tomatoes and peaches.
After the market I got dressed for the wedding. It was at 2 p.m. but the reception wasn’t until later that evening and more formal so it was a two outfit event for me. I wore an green old J Crew dress to the ceremony with gold accessories.
During the break between the ceremony and reception I ran errands, worked out and then showered to get ready for the night. I changed into a little black dress, pearls and pumps for the reception.
The reception was at Founders Hall in Uptown Charlotte. We welcomed the bride and groom and then it was party time. They were so sweet and happy and my friend looked amazing. During the ceremony I leaned over to another friend and whispered, “she was MADE to be a bride.” Beautiful!
Here’s a look at the details!
Centerpieces.
Bouquets.
Favors.
Cake. They kept it simple with vanilla and chocolate but I had two pieces of the vanilla (one was to go on the Uber ride home!). The frosting was spot on!
The dinner was also fabulous. I had shrimp and grits, ravioli, roasted veggies, mashed potatoes and a pork loin sandwich.
I love these ladies! On such a high from a wonderful weekend full of love and friends!
What a beautiful wedding. But you are gorgeous throughout the whole thing.
What a fun weekend!! I can’t wait to get back to the farmers market – I literally haven’t had a free weekend since the weather got nice again. it looks like the reception was in the middle of a mall – what kind of location was it? Love the mason jar favors.
Those flowers are gorgeous! Love the bouqet.
I love your teal dress! It really pops with your hair. Beautiful wedding, too! Thanks for sharing it.
