Well, I don’t have much to share with you from my Saturday. It’s cold and has been raining all day here in Charlotte. I slept until 8 and then headed to Om Yoga to teach a hot vinyasa class at 9:30. It’s my second week teaching there and I am loving it so much.
I was really in the mood for a green smoothie before class but my ingredients were limited so I ended up with a random combination of banana, mango, chia seeds, super greens mix, coconut milk eggnog, water and ice. I was more worried about the coconut milk egg nog than anything but it ended up being the greens that made this weird. The mix had arugula and the smoothie ended up having a distinct arugula taste. Not exactly the best smoothie ever. I ate several handfuls of Cascadian Farms Cinnamon Crunch cereal with my smoothie. It’s similar to Cinnamon Toast Crunch but less sugar, less calories, a way shorter ingredient list and organic.
After class I came home, showered and got back into bed to read divergent. I don’t get many lazy, rainy Saturdays so I took full advantage!
I was craving a comforting sandwich for lunch so I headed to Which Wich where I ordered a turkey with all kinds of good stuff like olive mix, avocado, banana peppers and more. Love their sandwiches. I came home and went crazy on the fridge…like one of those pull every single food item out and then all the shelves and drawers. It looks like a new fridge! How can such a small task be so rewarding?
And here are this week’s workouts! My energy was really high this week and I was feeling super motivated to workout. It ebbs and flows so when it’s flowing I go with it! I am just so grateful for my balance between yoga, strength, high intensity and running. It’s perfect for me and keeps me feeling good.
Monday
– 75 minute hot yoga class
Tuesday

4 Rounds for Time
400 meter run
30 sit ups
15 box jumps (20 inch box)
– 90 minute hot yoga class
Wednesday
– CrossFit: this WOD was amazing cardio. It took me about 12 minutes and was a great workout! I was feeling the burn of 105 burpees!
– 60 minute hot yoga class
Thursday

Pull Ups
Handstand Push Ups
Prowler Push one length down turf and back
V-Ups

Have you ever tried prowler pushes? What do you think!? And I challenge you to try the burpee WOD!
We had a 20 min AMRAP of burpees the other day. I got 200 in! Definitely feeling it today.
Awesome week of workouts you got in there! I love that you did your own WOD! I don’t know how much I would like an arugula smoothie either – at least it was somewhat drinkable 🙂
We have Wich Wich in Denver but I’ve never gone. feeling inspired!
Wow!! Cannot believe you did 105 burpees in 12 mins plus all those lunges! Impressive girl!!
Yikes… I have done arugula in a smoothie too… Not the best! I DO want to try that wod- recently did 100 burpees in a day for the first time and my chest was sore for several days! Glad you’re going with the flow lately!
Can you believe I’ve never been to a Which Wich? I love places like Potbelly’s though… a good sandwich made just for you is always a perfect comfort food!
I love arugula when I know it’s in what I’m eating lol. Otherwise it definitely comes as a not-so-welcome surprise! 😉
I’ve made that same mistake with super greens mix….never again! Best used for salad for sure!
I DESPISE burpees and will not be doing that workout…LOL! I incorporated them into my interval training yesterday and 30 was plenty for me. 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your weekend! XOXO
Never made a smoothie with arugula, and now I don’t plan on it! Just finished Divergent and I loved it, already downloaded Insurgent to my Kindle…Went to a globo gym for the first time in over a year while on vacation with my family: 7 minute treadmill warm-up, some planks/push-ups/pull-ups, short and sweet WOD of 3 rounds (not timed) of 10 front squats (44# because I could only find a 10kg bar and two 5kg plates), 10 burpees and then a 500m row cash-out. I’m terrible at being out of my own box and familiar surroundings!
