Hi and I hope you had the best Wednesday. Finn and I had a great day. He is an awesome sidekick and has been full of laughs all day.
The arrival of October has brought all the pumpkin things! When I got home from teacher training on Sunday evening, my dog/house sitter had left me these mini pumpkins that she decorated with yoga stuff and welcome home. How sweet! I am so lucky to have her.
Hot on the heels of yesterday’s pumpkin apple bread…I had a thought today. PUMPKIN CARROT CAKE! This is happening friends, and soon!
Finn and I had a pumpkin/Halloween-themed photo shoot today and stopped into Whole Foods after.
I couldn’t resist picking up a few pumpkin-themed things including a Pumpkin Pie Larabar, Pumpkin Spice Sandwich Cookies and Pumpkin Spice Pecans. I have tried the cookies and I can report that they are good!
In non-pumpkin news, can we take a minute to say a collective “AWWWWW” over this. Finn is ALL about watching his sisters play and today he was laughing at them! My heart melted and it was just the cutest thing.
We ended the evening with a walk while we chatted with my grandmother. Sadly, I’ve had to move our walks off the trail and into the neighborhood because ever since hurricane Florence, the mosquitos have been NUTS on the trail. they have never been this bad in the year and a half I’ve been walking there. And unfortunately, I have that blood that mosquitos just seem to love. 🙁
The sky was gorgeous tonight. It is getting dark so much earlier now.
Off to put a squirmy and tired baby to bed!
Have you purchased any good pumpkin products this year?
Do mosquitos eat you up or leave you alone? Any tried and true natural mosquito repellent ideas?
I bought those cookies too! They are good…I bought a second box today.
Mosquitos do not like me! I bought an all natural mixture at the farmers market I go to. Have you tried looking for something like that at the ones you go to? Also it seems like tea tree oil is a common ingredient in the all natural ones as well. I have a mosquito shirt that I wear if I am camping or something like that. It doesn’t look cool but it sure does the trick-from REI
Samantha – you are so lucky that mosquitos don’t love you! Ahhh, I’m jealous! 🙂
I will keep an eye out for a natural alternative when I’m out at the market. Great suggestion.
And enjoy those cookies! 🙂
Those pumpkin spice pecans look amazing. I’m not a big cereal person usually (except when I was pregnant-ha!) but lately I’ve been loving pumpkin spice cheerios as a snack.
I’m also not a big cereal person but do occasionally like to snack on it without milk. Those Cherrios sound good!
The mosquitos have been AWFUL in Memphis this year too! I am so ready for them to go away! Thanks for the update and happy October to you and Finn!
Thanks Kristen! 🙂
Do you think you will be up for doing a stroller/carseat post at some point now that you have used them for a number of months? I feel like with you walking outside a lot and also traveling a lot and not being afraid to bring Finn many places you could be the best resource. Thanks for considering!
I had not thought of that but I will for sure either write a post or include a recap in my baby gear for 3-6 months post that will come soon!
Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Spiced Pumpkin seeds are VERY addictive. I bought the pumpkin Rx bar but have not tried it yet!
OMG, I need to get a package of those things this year. They are so good and you’re right…so addictive!
hi Jen. I enjoy a heaping tablespoon of pumpkin puree, a hefty shake of pumpkin pie spice 1 tablespoon of maple syrup in my oatmeal. I REALLY enjoy reading your blog everyday! Finn is growing up so fast! What a handsome little guy!
YUM Susan! Love that pumpkin pie twist on oatmeal! Thank you so much for the kind words about my blog. And yes, he’s growing so fast!
Mosquitoes are my best friend. My husband and I can be standing in the same spot outside and I will walk away with 5 bites and he has none! Drives me insane. I just try to avoid going outside dawn and dusk when they are the worst.?good luck!
I am the SAME way! It’s so crazy how much they like me!
