My weekend didn’t exactly go as expected. I planned to go visit my grandmother in Georgia but I felt kind of off on Friday so I decided to delay my visit until Saturday and see how I felt. I’m so glad that I did because I was coughing and had lost my voice by the time Saturday morning rolled around. I decided to stay put and not share my germs with my sweet Mema.
I was so surprised to wake up Sunday morning to this get well flower delivery from her! Grandmothers are the best! ๐
I ended up staying home all day Saturday and tackling a bunch of cleaning and home organization projects. I started in the kitchen and gave it a good cleaning and then moved to the office where I spent a solid three hours creating a zen and organized workspace. It made such a huge difference! Although I admit that I’m not one of those crazy “loves to organize” kind of people, I do love my workspace to be neat and tidy for maximum productivity.
When my fiance got home on Saturday night and asked what I wanted to do I said “pizza and a movie…on the couch!” We tag teamed homemade pizza and it was delicious!
We watched Ex Machina which was totally crazy. It sucked me in and kept me entertained but it was so out there! Has anyone else seen it? What did you think?
Sunday morning brought green juice and french press coffee. So many of you have requested a french press tutorial so I’ll get on that. It’s been coffee life changing for me. I never even go to Starbucks anymore! (Seriously…) I made the green juice in my Juicepresso Juicer, which makes juicing SO easy! This juice had apple, kale, ginger, carrots, apples, cucumber and lime.
Later that day we had a tasting for the cafe at Y2 Yoga. We are launching our salads, sandwiches and wraps on Wednesday and I got to try them all out. Everything was so amazing and I can’t wait to eat this delicious food on the regular!
I wrapped up the weekend with a long walk with the pups. I owe you guys a post introducing my fiance’s pug, Arnie. He’s 14 and we’ve nicknamed him, “The Immortal Pug.” You will die when you see all of the pictures of him and the girls! It’s hysterical. I melt a little on the inside every time all three of them drink from the same water bowl at the same time.
Did you go out this weekend or stay in?
Have you seen any good movies lately?
I can’t believe there’s a Pug in the picture!! I’ve always had Labs, but we added a Pug to the mix last year…she is a riot. They are so loveable, but totally crazy! I love the pic of the 3 of them drinking from the same dish! Can’t wait to see a pic of Arnie’s face! ๐
I’ll share some more pics soon!
My weekend was a stay in weekend. My husband and I welcomed our second daughter and we came home from the hospital on Wednesday. So we’re still getting to know her and creating a new routine with a newborn and a 2 year old. And my poor golden retriever, Cody, just doesn’t know what to do with all the girls around him!
Congratulations!! Goldens are so good with kids, so I’m sure he’ll adjust!
Went to my parents’ place in Warner Robins this weekend. My new horse arrived from Ohio during the week, and I couldn’t wait any longer to see her! It’s been a rough month for me with my grandmother (whom I was very close to) unexpectedly passing away, and work has been extremely stressful, so I was excited to finally have something to look forward to.
I’m so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I’ll keep you and your family in my thoughts. I’m glad it sounds like you had a fun weekend!
My husband and I had a quiet weekend grilling and spending time outside watching the hummingbirds fight over the feeder.
That sounds perfect! Hummingbirds are so fascinating to watch.
I went out AND stayed in! I am one of those crazy organizing cleaners, i loooove to clean. so saturday was my outdoors, super active busy day, and sunday was my stay inside and deep clean the apartment. It was a glorious time ๐
Yay for a french press tutorial! I struggle getting the coffee:water ratio!
Coming soon!
Sometimes a weekend in is just what you need! I had a similar weekend, you know you need a break when you pass up shopping for staying around home ๐ Can’t wait to see Arnie! I love all the pictures of your dogs!
Thanks! More pictures of Arnie to come soon!
Sorry you were not feeling well and miss some quality grandma time! Looks like you still had a nice relaxing weekend. My favorite kind ๐
Unfortunately, I have not seen any good movies lately. But my husband watched Spy and Mad Max and loved them both. ๐
I haven’t seen either of those!
I watched Ex Machina on the plane ride home on Friday! I was also sucked in and entertained but the ending left me wondering what the heck happened! Lol
I have a pug called Arnie!! The best. He is our soon to be 11 year old grumpy old man ๐ Have a good day!
Too funny! Thank you!
More puppy cuteness on this blog!?? I can’t stand it! ๐
Sounds like you got just what you needed this weekend. I hope you voice is doing better!
Thanks! It’s getting a little better each day.
I hope you are feeling better. Those flowers are so pretty!
Thank you!
Glad you are feeling better! I haven’t gone to the movies in such a long time. I spent so much time outside this past weekend, because weather on Nantucket for the yoga festival was beyond gorgeous. We were so blessed for another beautiful festival, atmosphere, and weather. ๐
Thank you! That sounds absolutely amazing.
My fiance brought a pugle (pug/beagle) into the mix when we combined households a year ago. (I have a miniature schnauzer.) Pugs are super cute! Man, he is a food hound, tho! If we turn our backs for a second, any food w/in his reach has been snatched! I put a huge salad creation on the table one night (I thought I’d pushed it far enough towards the center, but no…) only to turn around & see his tongue in it. And that was the last of the lettuce… >( (& almost the last of the pugle!)
Haha! Sounds like Zoey. Especially with vegetables!
I struggled for awhile when I needed a new coffee maker: every one I looked at had this unsettling mix of good AND negative reviews (I have the same problem with vacuum cleaners). So I couldn’t decide. I ended up just taking a friend’s french press off his hands that he never used and fell in love hard. I’ll never go back. And I’ve said the exact same thing: not only is the coffee good enough for me to never have to spend a dime at starbucks again, I actually enjoy my coffee far more.
I agree! I enjoy it so much more.
How freaking amazing would it be if you woke up to flowers and pizza?! Man you are a lucky girl!
