It’s been a wonderful but exhausting day. I taught two hot yoga classes this morning and then headed back to the studio to teach an arm balance and inversions workshop this afternoon. I love, love, love all things inverted and upside down and teaching these workshops is rewarding and a lot of fun.
This was my Level 1 Workshop and we covered crow, side crow, headstand, forearm balance, figure four arm balance, mountain climber and handstands. It’s so awesome to get people out of their heads and see things start to click. They did such a great job! I posted a video of some of the poses we went over on Facebook and Instagram.
I got a serious workout just demoing everything and breaking down modifications. I thought I would go running after the workshop but I ate a cupcake and took a nap instead!
Carrot cake cupcake from CupCrazed Cakery. Perfect treat at the end of a long day. As soon as I got home I got in bed and took a 30 minute nap and now I’m horizontal on the couch on the computer. 🙂
It’s been a while since I posted recent eats so here are a few good ones for you!
Egg on buttered sourdough.
Banana egg white oatmeal and french press coffee.
Panera “You Pick Two” with chicken noodle soup and the fuji apple salad. I subbed spinach for the romaine.
Massaged kale salad with goat cheese, tomatoes, pecans, cucumbers and smoked chicken.
Favorite lunch creation of the week…tuna salad made with mashed avocado, plain greek yogurt, dried cranberries and almonds served with a salad and crackers.
Blackened fish over cauliflower puree and roasted asparagus.
Barbecue and gouda chicken burgers (so good) and a big side of roasted brussels sprouts, parsnips, turnips and carrots.
Burrata (similar to fresh mozzarella), arugula, cherry tomatoes and grilled eggplant at a girls’ night at George’s. I asked for bread with this and it was glorious.
Spice rubbed chicken with more roasted veggies. I posted earlier this week that I was obsessed and I wasn’t kidding! I added a sweet potato and some shredded cheese to this batch. Yum.
And finally, by the time Friday night rolls around I don’t have much motivation to cook. I used to be all about Friday night pizza but lately it’s been cheese plates or Vietnamese take out. I really wanted take out but couldn’t bring myself to leave the house to go get it. Not complaining about this cheese plate I settled for!
How was your Saturday? Did you do anything fun?
What is your favorite Friday night dinner?
Your cheese plates always look so yummy! I did an 8.5 mile trail run with friends this morning, which was fun. I’d forgotten how much tougher it is to run on trails, so my legs are feeling it a little now!
I really want to go to an inversions workshop. Handstand and (eventually) forearm stand are where I need the most help. My favorite Friday night dinner is anything I don’t have to cook 🙂 Preferably good leftovers.
My Saturday was a great one! I slept in, ran a few errands and then spend the afternoon with my girlfriend who’s on bed rest waiting for her baby. We ate chopped salads, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and watched a marathon of RHONY. Then I came home to my husband making dinner for me- surf and turf! It was a great day!
Last night I had Book Club and the host ordered pizza, it was such great Friday meal!
I haven’t been back to Crumbs since they reopened but I keep meaning to go to get a cupcake! Haven’t had one in a while 🙂
All my favorite things! Must have been an awesome workshop!!!
Dang it….everything looks good and I’m having my morning coffee! Haven’t been to Georges in awhile and we can walk there. 🙂 Looks like it’s time to go back. Have you tried Rock Salt yet? We are going tonight.
Even though I am no yogi I have always loved the idea of learning to do inversions!
I wish you would post more recipes!! Your dinners always look so amazing yet healthy!
we are all about some thai takeout on friday nights. that blackened fish and cauliflower puree looks delicious.
The colors in your cupcake photo scream Spring! I enjoyed the amazing weather in Houston this weekend. It was so beautiful and it felt so good to have the sun shining the whole time…
I would LOVE to go to one of your workshops! Looks so fun! 🙂
Looking forward to getting to CLT and taking one of your workshops down the road!
