Good morning and happy Monday! I hope that your week is off to a great start!
I think most of us are ready to blast out of this cold weather rut. It’s 34 degrees in Charlotte this morning! We can all agree that it’s been a LONG, COLD winter for everyone. I have put together a little April Challenge to welcome spring and sunshine.
A green smoothie every day in April! I have hosted one previous 7-day Green Smoothie Challenge but I thought we needed to up the ante this time and go for 30!
I love green smoothies and drink them almost daily. I have turned so many friends and clients on to them as an easy way to get in some greens and to sneak them to their kids! The ONLY rule of this challenge is that you drink a green smoothie every day during the month of April. It can be breakfast, lunch, snack or dessert…just get it in somewhere! This challenge is NOT a cleanse or detox. It’s just adding a healthy smoothie into your daily routine that will give you a big dose of all kinds of good vitamins and nutrients.
I want this to be a community building challenge where we can all connect, share ideas and keep each other accountable so I have set up a few things…
1) I will write a weekly check in post reviewing my green smoothies for the week and asking about yours.
2) Use the hashtag #GreenSmoothieChallenge on Instagram and Twitter so we can all keep up with each other.
3) I have created a Pinterest board for inspiration.

Are you in? Challenge starts Tuesday, April 1!!!
oh, no Jen! you’re going to make me bite the bullet and FINALLY buy a new blender for my kitchen!?
I love green smoothies and used to drink them every day. I don’t think I can drink a smoothie every day this month, since I am going on vacation for a week (unless I lug my HEAVY Vitamix with me). But I’ll try to incorporate green smoothies more often in my diet!
I am so in! I have been drinking them almost every day since January for lunch. Found that is gives me so much more energy, I feel better, and it is a cheaper alternative than eating out!
I’m in! I did my own 30 day smoothie back in September and felt amazing after. The cold got me out of the routine, but this will be a great warm weather kick start!
Yes! I’ve been making green smoothies almost every day lately and I love this idea. Such a great way to kick off April! 🙂
This morning:Spring greens, celery, apple, 1/2 grapefruit, habanero (tiny bit for spice), and spinach…I juiced mine today! Love this challenge!
I’m in.
Can you give us some good recipes?
Hey!
I think the recipes are at the bottom of the post! The top six are my favorite!
ENJOY!
Sara
I love green smoothies! I actually just had one this morning as part of my breakfast! I guess I’m getting ready for the challenge tomorrow 🙂
I’m in! Perhaps I’ll even try a few new green smoothie recipes along the way. Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh I would love to join this but don’t think I’d be able to do it EVERY DAY. When I do though I will make sure to use the hash tag and participate! Thanks for doing this 🙂
I love this idea, particularly because 30 days is long enough to form a habit (and I could use a healthy new breakfast habit)! Thanks for the inspiration!
I am in! I have already made a green smoothie every single day for the month of March (without even trying). Now if I can just branch out of my usual flavor combos…..
So excited for this challenge! I recently (a few weeks ago) started having a smoothie for breakfast almost every morning and now I can’t stop! I was inspired to give it a try after following your blog for a while. Here’s to 30 days of green smoothies!
I am in as well! I have been using the same green smoothie recipe for several weeks now. This will be great way to try some new recipes and get a little more creative in the kitchen!
Cheers to the thirty day green smoothie challenge!
LOVE this idea!! Im just starting to get back into smoothies and made my first one since winter this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration and motivation!
Love this! I’m doing my own challenge during April so I’m not going to officially join, but I’ll try to fit in as many as I can and use you for inspiration!!
I love green smoothies so this should be easy!
Loooove green smoothies!!! Totally doing this.
I’m in! I just started making green smoothies for breakfast, they are great!
I noticed a poster at my work today in the elevator. My entire work building is being challenged with completing a 30-day green smoothie challenge as well! That’s something like 2000 people. They’re handing out samples of green smoothies today. Pretty cool!
YAY!!!! I’m in! I’m in definite need of a spring-is-coming-soon booster 🙂
I love green smoothies and could definitely use some inspiration for new recipes! One question though….how in the world do you get your green smoothies so bright and green? Mine always turn out sort of a muddy greenish brown. Is there something “green” other than spinach in yours?
I think this is a great idea but can i ask a dumb question…..if all you do is add a green smoothie and not use it to replace something or at least cut calories elsewhere won’t this cause weight gain ? Even when i make my smoothies pretty healthy with greens, fruit, yogurt, milk, protein powder all has added calories, sugar, etc ? Sometimes i find that having only a smoothie for breakfast isn’t enough to fill me up even if i put in protein powder. And sometimes at least for me…fruit is still sweetened so it can actually make me crave sugar if i’m not careful. Just wondering your thoughts on this ?
You might try adding in chia seeds or a bit of oatmeal when blending your smoothie (if you have a vitamix or similar blender). Makes meal replacement a bit more substantial. I also sometimes top mine with a nut butter rather than blending it in, feels more substantial if I can see it .
thanks. i do add flax havent tried chia yet and oatmeal is a good idea. i think for some reason i’m one of those people that more liquid style calories i dont have to chew just seem not to “count” to me as satisfying food but they sure count when it comes to calories/weight ! i guess the light went on for me once when i put the contents of a few smoothies i make tht i think are “healthy” and the calorie count was a huge shocker. i was really underestimating how many calories were in the “healthy” smoothies i make at home !
I’m in! Shouldn’t be too difficult..I already drink one every morning! LOL
just signed up! thanks for the inspiration. maybe it will replace my wine?
I’m going to join in! I won’t be too stressed if I miss a day here and there, but I’ve been meaning to reintroduce green smoothies for a while, so this is a good opportunity. Thanks!
So stoked for this! My husband and I are in! Great way to get excited about Spring and kick-start getting back into a healthy routine after a Winter filled with comfort foods and laziness.
I’m in. I better get to the store pronto to stock my fridge. 🙂
Here’s a question for you: I can’t eat raw banana due to some weird intolerance (gives me stabbing pain in my tummy. Fun, huh?) Anyway, so many smoothies seem to be made better by an addition of banana. Do you have any good subs for banana in order to give a good texture to the smoothie? Thanks!
Count me in!
This is going to be a great way to get back to drinking these in the morning! With the cold weather they were such a turn off, but I am for sure going to accept the challenge!
I LOVE smoothies! I look forward to reading about your challenge!
I’m in!! This sounds so perfect! I will totally try and remember to take pictures and hash tag everything too.
Thanks for the great idea! Perfect cleanse to start off Spring 🙂
Love this idea! I don’t do smoothies often but maybe that’s because we have been in the dread of winter for what seems like forever. With the warmer days upon us I will be craving a more refreshing way to have my veggies rather than roasting them in the oven!
I’m in!!!!
I’m in! April is my birthday month and it’s time for me to kick myself into gear with my health and fitness.
I drink a green smoothie every day for breakfast as it is, but I love this because I make the same smoothie day after day after day…so getting some new ideas will be great!
I am so in!!
Love this idea! I was hoping to reduce my sweets this month and think this will be a wonderful way to have something delicious without it being processed sugar. I would love any tips you (or other readers) can share on blending green smoothies when you don’t have a high powered blender (no Vitamix for me)!
Was drinking my green smoothie yesterday morning when I read this, I am in!
Forgot to take a pic of my smoothie this morning- almond milk, spinach, TJs frozen tropical fruit blend, banana, ice. Topped with almond butter and chia seeds.
Great idea. I have been loving smoothies lately!
I’m in! Perfect excuse to finally get the boyfriend to eat green smoothies!
Good for you! I make one every morning to share with my two-year-old daughter. She loves them! Right now, we’re doing almond milk, vanilla, spinach, banana, almond butter, and frozen strawberries. Delicious! Cheers!
do you only make smoothies or do you juice at all? I have been contemplating a juicer
hey cassie – i have only recently gotten into juicing in the last 6 months or so. i don’t do it at home yet…just smoothies so far. i usually buy juices out but they’re expensive!
