It only seems right to bring in the weekend with a post title courtesey of Enrique Iglesias. Haha. Although every time I hear that song it puts me in BodyPump mode because it’s a triceps track. I just want to yell out “singles.” Okay, so let’s actually discuss the relevancy of the title. This post is going to feature a random assortment of things that I’m really liking right now.
Alicia Keys – Girl On Fire
I have probably listened to this song at least 50 times since downloading it last week.
Everybody stands, as she goes by
Cause they can see the flame that’s in her eyes
Watch her when she’s lighting up the night
Nobody knows that she’s a lonely girl
And it’s a lonely world
But she gon’ let it burn, baby, burn, baby
This girl is on fire
Download it. Love it. And be on fire.
The Dawgs
My Bulldogs are ranked number 5 and are 4-0 going into this weekend’s home game against rival Tennessee. So wish I could be in Sanford Stadium for the game but I’ll be cheering them on from Charlotte.
Customer service.
In the past week I have had two extraordinary customer service experiences. One with Apple after my iPhone caught on fire on the charger. Seriously, the charger melted into the phone and left black char marks on my phone. They replaced my out of warranty iPhone at no cost with no questions asked. And the second with my homeowners insurance company, Safeco. They are replacing my entire roof and repairing drywall in my bathroom due to storm damage. The local loss specialist has been so nice to work with. I feel so grateful for their assistance.
Side note, if you are an Apple person…use the Cloud! I recently started using the Cloud and was able to get my new phone, turn it on, back up from the Cloud and it was literally just like I had the same exact phone. All of my text messages and contacts were there, all of my icons were in the same place and my browsing windows were even all still open in Safari. It was a very painless process to transition phones and I never even had to connect my phone to my laptop.
What’s making you sing, “Baby I like it?” 🙂
Love that song! I always picture gymnast Gabby Douglas coming out at the MTV music awards and doing some tumbling and leaps while Alicia Keys preformed – so neat!
Enjoy the game, even if from afar!
Interested in the Custom Fit Meals! Always love starting off my day by reading your blog.
And Go Dawgs from Athens! Gurley and Marshall are just ridiculous.
Definitely going to try that Dove deodorant out! I’ve tried other clinical ones with not much luck. Thanks for sharing that info! Have a great weekend!
Isn’t “I Like It” a tricep track (with press/pullovers and overhead presses at the end)? It’s one of my faves – I think it’s so well-timed to the music!
oh yes, you are so right. oopsie! i think i need to teach that one next week to remind myself! 🙂
GOOOOO DAWGS! I’ll be cheering them on from Mooresville!
And now I have Enrique in my head. That’s OK, though. I sorta love that song. 🙂
Hi Jen! I love reading your posts and have been following your blog for a bit! I was wondering if you had any recommendations for workouts for someone living abroad? I am living in Tanzania for at least the next year and have been trying to find different ways to exercise as there is no gym here and at certain times of the day when it is ideal in my schedule to exercise it isn’t always the safest. I have been using resistance bands, trying to walk or run when I can outside, and doing some aerobic type exercises indoors! Any other recs you may have? Thanks and Go Dawgs!
We’ll be cheering the Dawgs on from Texas! Gooooo Dawgs! oo oo oo!
Ah, Alicia…she’s pretty much the coolest person ever. Love her!
I’m definitely loving the pumpkin butter I posted about today, but I’m also loving DermOrganic’s Argan Oil Treatment – trying to minimize the chlorine damage to my hair!
I’m dying to hear in your follow up post about custom fit meals. I just went on the website and I love that they give you weight watchers points totals-and I’ve been dying for this option during busy weeks when neither of us can cook. I hate cooking “quick dinner” options that just taste like a lean cuisine or other microwave frozen meal, no matter how its prepared. SN: I miss taking your class but I haven’t been able to get to the gym on that night anymore, I have to check out Metro sometime. Until then, I keep up with you here.
