Ahh…it feels so good to be back to my normal routine. I so enjoyed teaching yoga, leading bootcamp, taking yoga and cooking dinner today. I know I only had three days off of teaching but it felt like an eternity. I was so happy to be back to my yogis this morning.
Catching up after the Thanksgiving break?
I ran 7 miles and did 20 sun salutations on Thanksgiving morning.
Highlights of the Thanksgiving feast included possibly the best spread ever and setting a cheesecake on fire.
I am giving away a snack box from Lolliphop. You have until midnight Monday to enter!!!
We wrapped up our time in Atlanta with dinner out, a concert and visiting with friends.
I slept until almost 8 today (5 a.m. will come SO early tomorrow) and then made a bowl of oatmeal and coffee to prepare for my long day. My 9:15 hot class at Y2 was wonderful. After class, I rushed off for our final day of bootcamp.
It was my turn to lead and I made sure to put together a challenging “farewell to bootcamp” workout. They warmed up with cardio, did sprint drills and then a tough strength workout. Everyone worked so hard. It was awesome! The “Fight Gone Mad” bootcamps through Y2 have been my first time leading bootcamps and I’ve had so much fun with it! I think we’re going to take December off and then restart them in January. I’m excited!
After bootcamp I headed straight back to the studio to practice. I hadn’t practiced at the studio since last Tuesday and it was so nice to be back. I have to admit though that I paid dearly for all the running I did in Atlanta. My hips were cramping terribly throughout the class. 🙁
I am always amazed by the effect that running has on my yoga practice. I can tell a HUGE difference in my practice when I’ve been running a lot.
I was so in the mood for a “normal” and meatless dinner tonight. I made cornbread, lentil soup and salad.
The lentil soup made a freaking ton but it was delicious. We will be eating it for months! I topped mine with greek yogurt. It was healthy, hearty and satisfying.
What makes you feel “back to normal” after holidays? I love a break in routine but after a while it’s nice to be back to my normal schedule + eats!
Teaching boot camp is so fun! It’s one of my fav classes to teach and used to be my favorite workout before the injury!
eating normal again makes me feel so much better. how does thanksgiving (a single meal) turn into a weekend-long eating frenzy?!?!
Oh gosh, I can completely relate. I feel like this on a smaller scale on Sundays and a larger scale when I come back from traveling. I love having all my ingredients and being in control of what I’m eating and when I’m eating. Sleeping in and drinking wine at dinner is fun for about 2-3 nights and then I like to get back to the regular schedule.
Agreed! I was traveling the week before Thanksgiving as well, so my body is ready for the regular routine 🙂 To get myself back on track, I do soup too! It is quick and easy and opens up the time for catching up on house happenings (and school too)! The bootcamp sounds great– I do CrossFit and love it 🙂
Attending one of my favorite yoga classes, always makes me feel “back to normal”. A good sweat that involves lots of twisting, balancing, and deep hamstring stretches is a quick back to reality check for me. Hence, why I was psyched to hit up my class last night. It wasn’t pretty, but felt good!
