I was so excited to receive so much positive feedback on my Stress Less post. Unfortunately, I know that stress is something that most of us can relate to so I think it’s important to focus on dealing with it in healthy ways.
So no photos from my day yesterday because I was on a shoot all day for work and I didn’t really feel that it was necessary or appropriate to photograph my meals while surrounded by clients and crew. ๐
One thing I can share from my day is that I got told for the second time this month that I look like this actress + two other people asked about my ethnicity…which I have been asked pretty much my whole life. Random.

It’s Famke Janssen from the X-Men movies and she was in Taken. It’s always so weird to me when people tell me that I look like someone else…is that weird for anyone else? Who do you hear that you look like?
Fast forward to today.
Breakfast at my desk after teaching yoga with weights was overnight oats in a nearly empty sunflower seed butter jar. It took me a solid 30 minutes to eat this jar of delicousness…not a drop of sunflower seed butter remained when I was done with it!
I had a lunch meeting downtown and grabbed a salad from one of my favorite lunch spots, Energy Cafe. They offer a “build your own” salad for $6.99 with unlimited toppings…and they are generous with them! Such a good deal.
Today’s salad featured mixed greens, apples, black beans, roasted red peppers, corn, cucumbers, feta, walnuts, golden raisins and mushrooms with balsamic vinaigrette. I snagged a piece of baguette and fruit salad from the kitchen at work that was leftover from a meeting.
I love salads with tons of good toppings. This kept me satisfied all afternoon with no snacking.
What are your favorite salad toppings?
Teaching hot vinyasa at Y2 tonight! Can’t wait!

If you’re in town this weekend be sure to check out the Concert for Kids benefiting Communities in Schools. It’s an awesome benefit concert at The Chop Shop in NoDa featuring a Cast Iron Filter reunion show! All of the details are on the Facebook page!
I agree – it’s definitely weird and makes for an awkward moment when a stranger blurts out “You look just like…” especially if you are thinking “Umm, I hope not.” HA I’ve been told by one too many that I look like Katie Holmes – not sure how I feel about that one so I just smile, laugh, and keep walking.
People always ask me what ethnicity I am too. They always assume Greek, Italian our Middle Eastern! What do people think you are?
I can kind of see the resemblence!
My parents used to think that I looked like Jena Malone. I don’t see it. ๐ I don’t know if I look like anyone famous.
My favorite salad toppings are dried fruit and nuts. Nothing like a little sweet and a little crunch. I love varying textures in salads!
I can kind of see the resemblance, too. I usually get told that I look like Tina Fey now that I have these new glasses. The auto mechanic went so far to say that I laughed like her, too. Odd!
1. my husband thinks famke is hot.
2. Once a taxi cab driver stopped for us because he thought I was Jennifer Tilly. Considering my short, not-very-slender legs – not quite.
3. people ask my ethnicity all the time. it’s a combination of my name and my black hair. Once during a job interview, and i tattle taled on the manager to his legal council. (Note – i did not call my lawyer, i told HIS lawyer, so they would discuss with him why he can’t be doing that.)
4. heard you have been emailing with Brian. I look forward to editing your post on our site!
Oh, you do look like her! She’s very pretty, like you. ๐ I get Leighton Meester sometimes, but I don’t know if I would have ever thought I looked like her had several people not said so. I have also gotten questions about ethnicity, but usually when my hair is darker.
People tell me I look like a cross between Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Justin Bieber. I think I’m way more Taylor Lautner. I swear we have the exact same ankles!
You DO look like her! She’s gorgeous so I hope you took it as a compliment. Back when I was really thin, I got Sheryl Crow a lot. Even though I never thought of her as pretty, I miss those days. She’s always had a fabulous body! ๐
Fave salad toppings are craisins, goat cheese and almond slivers.
That salad looks awesome. My favorite salad topping are dried cranberries, honey pecans or walnuts and goat cheese! I have (naturally) very dark hair and several people have asked me if I am Native American or Hispanic. I think it is funny that I get this question because my skin tone is very light and pale… it’s the jet black hair that gets people every time.
Hey I would take that as a compliment, that woman is smokin! I always get asked if I am Italian…um, no. It’s awkward to ask such a thing! I am going to have to hit up that salad bar soon, btw!!
I do see the resemblance. But I know what you mean, when people tell me I look like a celebrity I never really know what to think. I’ve gotten a young Laura Dern (from Jurrasic Park) several times, but every time I look at a photo of her, I just don’t see the resemblance.
Oh my gosh…the salad looks AMAZING! What a healthy mix of deliciousness! Thanks for the blog…it’s one of my new fave’s! Cheers, Jamie
I love salads with tons of toppings. Lately, I have really loved topping salads with leftover roasted veggies. Other favorites are nute (almonds, peanute), raisins, goat cheese, and even blueberries. The more stuff the better in my book.
You do look like her!!! Or she looks like YOU! Haha either way you are both gorgeous. I’ve gotten Jennifer Garner before…but I don’t personally see it at all.
You sure do look like her–that is def a compliment! I’ve always gotten Jennifer Aniston, and recently I’ve been getting Blake Lively. I’ll be in Charlotte this weekend for the USC vs. ECU game! GOOOO COCKS!
I can see the resemblance between you and the actress, but I think you’re prettier!
When I used to get tan (now I try to stay away from the sun… sigh…) people would always ask ‘what I was’ in regards to my ethnicity. I guess I look exotic with a tan ๐
PS- I need to try Energy Cafe! yum
