I’m not sure how it’s already 10:45 on Sunday evening. This weekend really flew by.
Catching up on the weekend? Friday I had a really bad day and on Saturday I tortured Brandon with yoga! ๐
We went out for dinner Friday and Saturday night so we were in the mood to hang out at home tonight. Brandon suggested grilling and patio time. I thought that sounded like the perfect way to end the weekend.
I have been craving a burger for over a week now so I knew it was time to finally give in to my craving. Luckily, we had some local grass-fed ground beef in the freezer. Brandon was in charge of burgers and I worked on the sides…and on taking pictures of Sullie!
She has been extra sweet lately. She is such a cuddly dog. I love it! ๐
I saw the most amazing looking garlic oven fries in the recent Bon Appetit and thought they would be a great side for our burgers.
They were so easy and were probably the best oven fries I have ever made. I loved the addition of fresh parsley and garlic at the end and I couldn’t resist adding a sprinkle of parmesan too.
Dinner was excellent and so summery. We dressed the burgers with homemade herb mayo made with herbs from our garden, mixed greens and sliced homegrown tomato. Corn on the cob and fries on the side.
The rest of my day consisted of teaching a 90-minute hot yoga class this morning, running (4 miles!!!), making brunch with Brandon, a meeting and lots of work.
Brunch picture just because it was pretty!
This is going to be a busy, busy week. Teaching two classes per day Monday-Wednesday, work and lots going on outside of work. I’m ready!
Stay tuned…blog topics planned for this week include the running + my body post and an ashtanga backbending video. Any other special requests?
Have a fabulous week!
I had burgers last night too ๐
Isn’t it the perfect summer meal?
yes, totally! i especially loved the local, grass-fed beef we had. it tasted amazing!
Weren’t you gunna do a post on ashtanga and your one year anniversary of doing it? Did you already do that? I may have missed it. ๐
YES! i will add that in with the backbending video! ๐
Jen, I’ve been reading your blog for a few months but am a first-time commenter. I recently started taking ashtanga-style led classes and my instructor has been trying to persuade me to come to mysore practice. I’m a little intimidated at the prospect. I’d love to hear about your experience with the mysore style if you’re able to include it in your post on ashtanga. Definitely looking forward to the backbending video as well!
Thanks for your wonderful blog!
We grilled out burgers on Friday for the first time in forever, and they were delicious!! Though we didn’t have those amazing fries…
the fries were so easy and so delicious! i actually think i like this kind of oven fries better than the fried kind! ๐
Sullie is adorable as always! And I am just cacthing up from Friday. SO glad the accident wasn’t worse and you’re OK!
I just love your outdoor patio area!
you and isaac should come over one night! we will grill black bean burgers and veggies! ๐
Love grilling. Seems like everyone had decent enough weather for this!
4 miles girl!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeahh! that is awesome!!!!! waiting out that injury was totally worth it for ya!!!
Those fries look incredible. That entire plate would have been gone before dinner!
I love grilling out on Sunday nights, best part about summer! yummmm
Looks like a fun Sunday night, especially sitting out on that cute patio. It is too hot here in Texas to even go outside in the evenings (it is still over 100 degrees at 10 PM), so we have to wait a few more weeks until we can grill outside again.
I just wanted to share with you that I finally took my first hot yoga class last night. The instructor was very helpful and encouraged us to go at our own pace and take breaks when needed (I needed several), but I loved how I felt so invigorated at the end of class. I am looking forward to adding hot yoga 1-2 times a week as I pick up my mileage during half marathon training.
