What do you get when you organize a blogger holiday cookie swap? A whole lot of deliciousness!
Brittney was so kind to host us all tonight for a holiday party/cookie exchange.
I contributed Shortbread Bark Cookies (recipe coming soon on Bakin’ and Eggs!).
And Orange Cranberry White Chocolate Biscotti.
Before I dug into cookies, I had a dinner plate. Brittney had a very nice spread for us.
It was hard to resist the temptation to go straight to sweets but the food was great!
And then I scoped out the goods…
And made my dessert plate…
Yum! I wish I could have had one of everything but I would probably have gone straight into a sugar coma. The good thing about the exchange is that we loaded up on cookies to take home! To say that Brandon was excited when I walked in the door with a giant plate of cookies tonight would be an understatement. ๐
Before the exchange I taught BodyPump and enjoyed having Katie in my class tonight! I met Katie at an event at lululemon a couple months ago – it was great to see her again! It was her first BodyPump class and she was awesome!
After BodyPump I quickly ran over to the convention center to pick up my race packet for Saturday’s half marathon.
The expo was not crowded at all so I was able to quickly pick up my packet and get on the road to cookie heaven.
Eek – can’t believe I am running a half this weekend. Jen, Brittney and I had quite a bit of discussion tonight about race day temperatures and strategies. Funny, when I finished Marine Corps December 11 seemed so far away. Can’t believe it’s already time to race again. I’m excited!
Let’s keep moving in reverse, shall we? Lunch today was a veggie burger.
Served open faced with hummus, mashed avocado, tomato, spinach and colby-jack. I was g-chatting with Sarah this morning and told her I had to go home and make lunch. She told me to go make a melty-cheese sandwich. I’m so predictable! ๐
I had overnight oats at my desk this morning.
In the mix…1/3 cup oats, 1/3 cup Silknog, 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt, chia seeds, pumpkin pie spice, 1/2 banana, blueberries and dried cranberries. Crofter’s and sunflower butter on top.
I did not make it to ashtanga this morning. I was out late last night at a yoga get together to celebrate my teacher’s 30th birthday. I opted for sleep knowing that tonight would be a late night too and I have the race coming up this weekend. I actually woke up at 5 a.m. for class but willed myself back to sleep. I must get better about resting my body. I did run a very cold 3.6 miles before the yoga party though. It really helped mentally prepare me for Saturday’s cold race!
And one last fun thing to share with you…I was out shopping with a co-worker for our Angel Tree during lunch yesterday. Brandon was so, so sweet to bring lunch by my office.
How cute! I requested a hummus, spinach and avocado sandwich, an apple and goldfish. He threw in a piece of chocolate too.
I am so lucky – he is a keeper!
And I think that covers it all! Long post. HAPPY FRIDAY!
Hi Jen,
It was great meeting you tonight. I’m so glad I have so many new blogs to follow and can’t wait to catch up on your posts! ๐ Hope to see you at another get together soon!
So much delicious food and great pictures too!
You have inspired my lunches! I’ve started making open faced sandwiches with melted cheese. I’ve had so many people comment on the dishes, too and I told them I get the ideas from your blog ๐
