I’m a little late getting my Christmas recap up. Please forgive! I left my camera at my in law’s last night and then slept until 9 this morning and spent a big chunk of time at the Y trying to get myself out of my sugar coma and back to normal. I’m just getting settled in at Starbucks to knock out some work.
So here is a look at our Christmas…
We hung out at home until around 10:30 and then headed over to my in law’s for brunch and presents. The stockings were full…
And the gifts were ready to be opened.
Brunch was quiche, eggs benedict and orange slices.
The highlight of exchanging gifts was watching the little ones. So cute.
We took a mid-afternoon break to head home and relax for a bit. I bundled up and headed out for a brisk run. I ended up covering 5 miles and was able to maintain an average pace of 8:30. Sullie joined me for the first 2 and I finished the last 3 on my own. It was so nice to be able to fit in a run on Christmas Day. I am a big fan of holiday workouts because I have no self-control when it comes to the holiday sweets and wine! 😉
After showering and getting dressed for Christmas dinner, we went back over to Brandon’s parents house for the evening.
Brandon kept our two year old niece entertained with the iPad. Craziness. TWO years old and she loved it.
Dinner was beef tenderloin with hollandaise and horseradish sauce, roast turkey breast and gravy, boursin mashed potatoes, peas with pearl onions and mushrooms, red cabbage and biscuits. So much food. But all so good.
Dessert was gingerbread cake with lemon sauce and whipped cream.
After dessert I helped with kitchen cleaning a bit and then rolled my stuffed self home to pass out. I am still battling this cough and it was especially bad yesterday. I took some medicine and slept for 10 hours. Feeling much better today.
I hope it was a wonderful holiday for everyone! I am ready to get back to the normal grind and get on with 2012. I need to start thinking about my goals for the year…so much happened in 2011 that I’m a little at a loss on my direction for the new year.
Sugar and Red Wine coma indeed! Thank goodness this only happens once a year, otherwise I would be the size of a house. I had an early client, then hit the Y for a 40 min treadmill workout and then a 30 min at home leg circuit. I feel so much better, but not beating myself up, because life is too short! Feel better.
Haha! My 3 year old takes over my mom’s iPad whenever he sees it, it’s amazing!!
The Christmas dinner plate looks soooo delicious! Although I’ve eaten more than my fair share the past couple of days, I would still clean that plate if I was presented with it this evening! Glad you had a great Xmas!
Sounds like a great Christmas and a delicious meal 🙂
Love your holiday shares and LOVE that you’re thinking about 2012 goals 🙂 I’ll be in CLT for the first week of the new year, so I’m all in for supporting your vision as you kick it off! Love you sister!
I have no idea what my new years goals are going to be either. Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas though!
Ive also been trying to figure out next years goals. It’s nice to have that to look forward to for some reason.
