It’s been a wonderful Christmas day with my family!
Stockings lining the stairs this morning when we woke up.
There was even one for Sullie.
My grandmother and I have been exchanging this gift bag for 10 YEARS! We take turns taking it home every year (although I have not been here for the last few Christmases ๐ ).
3.5 mile run with Sullie this morning.
Post-run breakfast of a waffle topped with pumpkin butter and Greek yogurt, fresh fruit and coffee.
Family Christmas portrait.
Appetizer table.
Present time! My cousin was the present elf.
Mom got a chef’s jacket with her name monogrammed on it! I’m jealous. ๐
Brandon loves all things monkey (don’t ask – a lifelong obsession) and got this fun shirt from my grandmother.
And our big present from my parents and grandmother – A Nikon 3100 DSLR!!! With a camera bag and another lens!!! We are SO excited! ๐ ๐ ๐
It was great having the everyone together for Christmas for the first time in years!
After presents my dad and I got busy in the kitchen preparing Christmas dinner.
Baked ham, macaroni and cheese (I made the famous Pioneer Woman recipe), kale, roasted carrots, parsnips and shallots, deviled eggs and sweet potato casserole. My dad also made amazing rustic dinner rolls.
I like to add one interesting/unique dish to our family spreads and the roasted carrots, parsnips and shallots were a hit!
My plate + a dinner roll.
I made a coconut custard pie for dessert. My dad made a 14-layer chocolate cake. (Seriously, he is famous for them and they are incredible. So moist and fudge-like.)
Full disclosure – I went back for a second sliver of cake. It hurt so good!
After dessert we hung out, cuddled and chatted.
The perfect end to the day!
I hope you guys had a very merry Christmas! Love to you all!
Okay. That mac & cheese looks divine! If the stores weren’t still closed, I would probably be in the kitchen right now.
Merry Christmas!
