Hey, hey! Hope you had a lovely fall weekend. That extra hour of sleep last night was pretty amazing and I felt so rested and revitalized today. I bounded out of bed to teach my 9:15 “yoga church” class. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one who appreciated the extra rest…class was packed and everyone was happy and energized.
I think that’s partially because I brought the sunshine with my yellow pants. They got QUITE a few comments. The best part about today’s class was the opportunity to finally meet long-time reader and fellow yoga teacher Pam. She was in Charlotte for a weekend getaway with her husband. She writes a blog about her experiences living her yoga and also as a military spouse. Check it out. Pam told me that I taught class exactly how I wrote my blog and that was interesting to hear from someone who’s been reading since I started this whole yoga teaching journey.
Lunch after class was a salad with homemade honey mustard (loved it yesterday, repeated it again today) and an open faced sandwich with mashed avocado, a perfect egg, tomatoes and colby-jack.
Other weekend stuff of note…
I baked those cookies I mentioned yesterday. I ended up going with an oatmeal pumpkin cookie with chocolate chips, dried cranberries and pumpkin seeds. They were great. I wanted to shoot them and blog more about them…but they’re already gone! 🙂
I went out for sushi with friends at Sushi Guru last night (<– fave in Charlotte). We started with a seafood ceviche that was incredible.
And several rolls to share. Gosh, sushi never gets old. One of my favorite foods to go out for…mostly because it’s something I can’t make at home and it’s just so good!
Breakfast this morning while I was prepping for my yoga class was a green smoothie. I drank it under a blanket with a side of coffee. It was 40 degrees in Charlotte this morning!
As far as workouts were concerned this weekend, I was totally content to yoga and walk. I practiced Friday, Saturday and Sunday and took long walks with the pup each day. Our beautiful fall just makes me want to be outside.
Sullie says I have to go. She needs attention.
Have a good night!
That sushi looks amazing, and can you put up the recipe for those cookies?! 🙂
Yum that sushi looks great! I had sushi today as well but I don’t think it was quite as good as that! Looks like a wonderful Sunday!
Those pants ROCK and like I said in your other post, I am so going to try to find them here in Houston. I’m definitely searching for bright crops. 🙂 40 degrees…cold! So don’t miss those temperatures. I slept like a rock too, but the time change has my appetite all out of whack today.
thank you! it’s a retiring color so i’m not sure if they’re still available. if so, they should be marked down! 🙂
Your class was the highlight of my trip! It was so amazing and you are such a gifted teacher. AND it was wonderful to meet you in person and chat. I love that the internet is also real life:)
Your egg sandwich looks so good. I am going to have to try that soon. We are happy to be back with our little ones but we miss Charlotte – what a beautiful city. We will be back!!
oh thank you so much! i’m so happy that you enjoyed your time in charlotte and that we finally connected!
you rock those yellow capris!
muah! thank you! 🙂
You are rockin’ those yellow pants! And sushi is definitely one of my favorite foods ever. Not only is it pretty, but it tastes amazing!
i know! i love it when food not only looks beautiful but tastes so good. the worst is when something looks pretty and tastes like nothing. definitely not the case with sushi!
Just had to comment to say love love love your blog!! 🙂

Those cookies look so good! Maybe you’ll make another batch and share the recipe!? 🙂

I LOVE bright pants! I have a client who owns a few pair. I always ask her to wear them for my classes! Haha. We can all use a little brightness in our lives 🙂 …. and sushi!

hi…quick question i’ve been wondering about for a bit. as a new person to HOT yoga…how often can/should you practice ? i never thought much about practicing /resting when i did “regular” yoga but am wondering now. i cross train (boot camp) and try to run but am thinking for the winter i’d like to do a little more hot yoga. can i practice several days in a row ? is it more like running where you need rest in between or change in what you are doing ? just wondering your thoughts…
Love Sushi Guru!!
