Happy weekend! I am breathing a big sigh of relief about being done with the week and trying to relax in between teaching a gazillion yoga classes. (No really, I’m teaching six classes in three days. And I love it.)
I’m here to share with you a very fun celebration dinner that we had on Friday night. Details about the celebration to come in the next post. (Oh…the suspense…for the record, I am not pregnant!)
We had 8:30 reservations at Customshop. This restaurant has been on our “must try” list since we moved to Charlotte. I can’t believe it took us two years to finally get there!
Customshop offered a great wine list and we were lucky that our server was the “wine guy” (his words!) for the restaurant. I love it when there are a lot of interesting and affordable selections on the wine list. After sampling a couple wines we went with the Barrel 27 Rock and a Hard Place Grenache. This wine was everything we love in a red…big, bold, flavorful with plenty of fruit and spice. Cheers!
We started with a meat and cheese plate. We selected a hot Italian soprasetta as our meat and a cow manchego and goat brie.
Oh the bread…fresh housemade foccacia drizzled in olive oil with fresh cracked pepper. So amazing. I am never one to pass up bread with dinner.
I chose the grilled scallops with summer vegetable succotash for my dinner entree. I have a serious weak spot for sea scallops when I got out for nice dinners. They are my favorite thing to order.
Of course there was dessert.
Chocolate souffle with vanilla ice cream. In addition to not being able to resist the bread basket, I also cannot resist ordering dessert when out for a nice dinner.
It was a wonderful celebration dinner! I’ve been smiling all weekend!
And finally, the winners of the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bar giveaway. Thank you so much for your responses on how to unwind when you’re stressed. I’m going to do a recap post with all of your amazing suggestions!
The two winners, selected by random.org…
#114 – Tara, who said her favorite way to stress less is, “Laughing with friends and running!!!!”
#80 – Ash, who said, “Here lately I have found the best way to deal with stress is going outside and breathing in the fresh air as well as finding gratitude after a great yoga practice!”
Email me at [email protected] and let me know where to ship! I’ll send the goodies out on Wednesday!
