4:50 a.m. – alarm goes off. I didn’t fall asleep until midnight (with the help of a guided meditation) so this felt very early after three weeks straight of 5:30 a.m. clients and lack of quality sleep.
5:30 a.m. – gym to train a client who is in her third trimester and a close friend of mine. The combo of friendship + her amazing motivation makes for an awesome session. (Note, clearly the client in the forefront of this pic is not pregnant!)
6:40 a.m. – back home. I typically have 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 clients on Thursday but thanks to the holiday, some are traveling. I do something very unlike me and crawl back in bed and sleep until 9 a.m. It was the most glorious, needed thing ever and I regretted it none.
9-10 a.m. – make breakfast, drink coffee, clean up around the house (make bed, run dishwasher, laundry) and catch up on email
10:10 a.m.- shower and dress
10:30 a.m. – dentist appointment to take care of some things I’ll blog about later. Ugh, dental work.
Noon – yoga private
1:20 p.m. – arrive home from yoga private and make a light lunch of PB & J and fruit since my mouth was still numb and feeling icky.
1:45 p.m. – conference call about an exciting project kicking off next week. It all happened over the course of the last 24 hours and I can’t wait to share it with you!
2 p.m. – pack bag for the rest of the day and leave for meeting
2:30 p.m. – Metro Management Team meeting
3:30 p.m. – Walk over to Edible Arts to order a cake for a friend’s baby shower and pick up a cake pop for myself while I’m there!
4 p.m. – training client at Metro
5 p.m. – fit in a quick CrossFit WOD. It’s been a heavy (and super strong) CrossFit week for me.
5:40 p.m. – leave to teach yoga
6 p.m. – teach hot yoga at Y2 yoga. One of my friends is apprenticing with me and co-taught a portion of tonight’s class. This is my crazy scribble of feedback and notes on his sequence.
7 p.m. – class is over. Clean the room, spend time talking with a student in the locker room, shower and get dressed.
8 p.m. – leave the studio and head to a friend’s house for wine. I pretty much made my dinner out of cheese and crackers.
9:45 p.m. – arrive home and chat with another friend on the phone to catch up on life
10 p.m. – start this blog post
Once I hit publish I will make some tea and read in bed until lights out. Praise the lord, I have no early clients on Friday thanks to the holiday. I am teaching two yoga classes but one is at 9:15 and the other is at noon so not too bad. I’m heading to a friend’s pool for the afternoon for some rest and relaxation. No other weekend plans! ๐
Busy busy week. That smoothie looks so good, actually your smoothies always look good.
REST woman and enjoy the weekend! ๐
I’ve been reading your blog since I started graduate school in January. Your enthusiasm for fitness and for life are very inspiring! You give me the motivation I need to study in the summer (boo!). Enjoy your holiday! ๐
Yay for getting some rest in! I am not a napper, but I have had a couple of days in the past where I just needed to lie down again and it is amazing! Good job at listening to your body ๐ Sorry about the dental work, but I hope the rest of your holiday weekend is amazing! Can’t wait to hear about the project!
Thanks again for another delicious recipe Jen. I’ve been living on tomato, avocado, and basil sandwiches. Something so simple but I never would’ve thought to put it together. It’s been so delightful especially at lunch where I’m not a fan of deli meats. Happy 4th!
I am a student and you’re blog is definitely inspiring! I love to bake and healthy living is so important to me! Your recipes are great (and I love that they are realistic -no obscure “health” ingredients!). Your blog is one of my favourite daily reads. I recently tried hot yoga (thanks to your inspiration!) and I loved it! Know that your blog is uplifting to so many
Cheers,
Kara
b-u-s-y!
loved your day! loved that you took up every minute and even had time to squeeze in a cake pop!
