Good news! Ever since the launch of the new blog design, I haven’t been able to respond to your comments. For some reason the response was showing up in the backend but not on the post. My blog guru fixed the issue last night so I will be responding to you again! It’s been killing me not to be able to interact that way.
So, I have some goals for the month of December. I know we’re already 5 days in but better late than never, right? And some of these changes are things that need to happen before the new year.
- Decorate for Christmas. I’m definitely not the “get the tree up the day after Thanksgiving” type but I am ready to feel a little bit of holiday cheer and excitement at home. Hopefully, we can make a date to get that done this week! I need some of this in my life!!!
- Finish this 62 Day Yoga Challenge. Ummm….I am a little behind. I have only completed 32 practices and we are 36 days in. I need to add in some doubles on a few days. Maybe some meditation or restorative/deep stretch.
- Work on my schedule so that I have a little more free time. This is especially important during the holidays as I need to be focusing more attention on enjoying friends and family and not just working.
- Take better care of me. Stress less. Rest more. Eat more. Have more fun.
Ohhhh sweet Sullie! Love this photo!!!
Oh my goodness, Sullie is too adorable. I love her furry toes, haha. One of my Christmas cards this year is a drawing of my dog wearing reindeer antlers!
I need to incorporate more sleep, and more yoga into my life! BodyPump, BodyCombat, Zumba, and running have taken over my current workout schedule and the bursitis in my hips would much rather me get back to doing yoga on a regular basis again, as well. I absolutely notice a difference (not a good one) since I haven’t been in the studio a few times a week lately. I miss it! More home practices may help.
yes, it is easy to get into a routine of doing hard workouts and not taking time to stretch/do yoga. if you can’t get into the studio then foam rolling and practicing at home are great options!
love that you drew your dog in antlers. that is too cute!
More sleep is something I really struggle with. There are not enough hours in the day! I bought some carrot ginger soup from Pacific Foods recently. It was on the clearance table for .34! I am obsessed with it now.
i know, the “not enough hours in the day” is what i struggle with. so much to do.
Great goals! I am on the same page pretty much. I need to decorate and enjoy the holiday’s! 😀
Great December goals. The doggy antlers are do adorable!
I love curly fries – fries are my weakness!
yum! i love energy cafe’s hummus sandwich…great quick lunch option!
i just love that place in general. so nice to have healthy options for lunch!
Sullie is too cute, and carrot ginger soup sounds delicious.
Finally got around to making your white chili (I substituted ground turkey for chicken because I had some on hand). It is Fabulous. I also put creamed corn instead of pureed beans! Even my husband loved it and he is tough 🙂
so glad you enjoyed it. i love, love, love that recipe! it’s a winter staple for us…and healthy!
I thought your burger was from a restaurant…Looks divine! Good luck with your December goals, especially the 62 day yoga challenge. Very impressive! I try to keep my yoga practices to 3-4 a week, otherwise I start to burn out. How’s your mind/body feeling so far with this challenge? Have a great night!
i’m feeling pretty good so far. i practice/teach pretty much every day anyway…i have had to just put it on the back burner a couple of days though because other things in life were just too important. yoga-wise i have been feeling more open than i ever have!
Keep that drink away from that pretty new MacBook! You’re making me nervous! 🙂
haha! i’m so clumsy too! 😉
I’m interested in doing a 30 day challenge, but I also don’t want to give up my strength training/running/kickboxing. How do you fit in other workouts?
i still strength train two days a week and then maybe run one or two days. it just totally depends on how i feel and what kind of practice i had. sometimes i do more gentle/restorative classes versus a crazy power class. it’s a tough balance!
I mostly practice Bikram in the mornings (at 6am), so I guess I just have a tough time talking myself into working out at night too 🙂 At that point, I want to veg out with ice cream, haha!
Sullie is such a cutie!! And I love your December goals – I also love that you added in “more time for me”. It sounds like your schedule is pretty hectic and from the recent pics you’ve posted it looks like you’ve lost some weight. Just glad to know you’re making your health a priority 🙂
hey shayla – thanks for the comment. yes…life has been super crazy lately and i am definitely working to find a more balanced schedule that allows for more fun, family and me time. health and feeling good are always #1!
Thanks for your response Jen – I appreciate it! 🙂
Btw, how did you get your header like that? Did you make it yourself or have some design it? I love it!
I die! That Sullie is just too much. Love your new header photos, too! I like your goal of spending more “me” time. It’s so hard to do in December and through the holidays. I’m hoping to get back on the mat this weekend and “ohhhmmm” my way back to sanity. Hope you’re having a great holiday season!
A burger would be really nice right about now. Also, I think stressing less would be great about now too. I’ve never been stressed about the holidays and such until this year, but work, holidays, and too much on my plate has really got me bogged down right now. Hopefully that clears up soon!
