This post is sponsored by FAGE; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Back in January I shared five ways to use FAGE Total Plain 5% Greek yogurt to make creative yogurt bowls. And today, I am going to show you how I use FAGE Total Plain 5% in a variety of ways, all day long! From yogurt bowls to smoothies to salad dressings to sauces to baking, FAGE Total Plain so versatile.
WHY I LOVE FAGE TOTAL 5% PLAIN GREEK YOGURT
I wrote a lot about why I use full-fat plain Greek yogurt in my last post and I’ve been thrilled to hear that many of you have made the switch and are enjoying how rich, creamy, delicious and satiating it is too!
I love that this FAGE Total Plain 5% all-natural Greek yogurt is Non-GMO Project Verified and contains no added sugar (only contains naturally occurring milk sugar). FAGE is packed with protein (18g per 7 oz serving) and is an excellent source of calcium.
I can also honestly say that FAGE Total 5% is the only brand of plain Greek yogurt that I can eat straight without any added ingredients to “cut the tang.” It does not give me that pucker face when I eat it. If you think you’re not a fan of plain Greek yogurt, you have to try FAGE before sticking to that belief.
Switching to FAGE Total 5% Plain is a great way to cut the added sugars that come with most flavored yogurts without sacrificing on taste. It’s a great swap for your spring eats!
Here are some of the ways that I use FAGE Total 5% plain all day long, in many different ways!
BREAKFAST IDEAS FOR FAGE TOTAL 5% PLAIN
OVERNIGHT OATS
Soak rolled oats in a mixture of FAGE Total 5% Plain and milk and let sit overnight. Add mix-ins and toppings of your choice. I like to add cinnamon, bananas and raisins or dried cranberries into the overnight mixture and top it with nut butter and berries. You can get crazy here with the mix-ins and toppings!
GREEK YOGURT + GRANOLA BOWL
Y’all know how much I love my Greek yogurt bowls! Layer FAGE Total 5% with chopped banana, granola and toppings of choice. Mine vary seasonally but always include nut butter!
Lately I’ve been all about strawberries since they are in season in Florida and available in North Carolina and Florida when I am visiting.
SMOOTHIE BOWLS
I always add a big spoonful of FAGE Total 5% Plain to my smoothie bowls. I like the way the flavor balances out the sweet of the bananas and dates and it adds a lot of extra creaminess and a punch of protein.
DRESSINGS, TOPPINGS + SAUCES USING FAGE
HOMEMADE GREEK YOGURT HONEY MUSTARD DRESSING
I first posted this Greek yogurt honey mustard recipe back in 2014 and it’s a simple and good one for honey mustard lovers!
CHILI AND SOUP TOPPING
FAGE Total Plain makes a great replacement for sour cream on top of chili and soups. Once it’s stirred in, it adds a great tang and creaminess. I love it on top of this chicken, sweet potato and black bean chili and stirred into this butternut apple ginger soup.
GRAIN BOWL TOPPER
You will rarely see me top a grain bowl without a dollop of Greek yogurt.
LIME CREMA ON FISH TACOS, ENCHILADAS OR ANYTHING MEXICAN-ISH
This photo makes me committed to adding fish tacos and Mexican quinoa to my meal plan ASAP! One of the most addictive uses for FAGE Plain Greek yogurt is lime crema. I love putting it on fish tacos, enchiladas, black beans, cilantro rice, Mexican quinoa, etc. My most basic recipe is a mix of plain Greek yogurt, mayo, lime juice, lime zest and sea salt. Sometimes I also stir in some cilantro. I could eat this stuff straight with a spoon.
BAKING WITH FAGE TOTAL
QUICK BREADS
I love adding a bit of plain Greek yogurt to quick breads to replace some of the oil. It works so well to produce a moist, tender and delicious quick bread. You can try my maple carrot oat banana bread, peanut butter and banana muffins, coconut peanut butter banana bread or blueberry banana muffins to start!
LEMON YOGURT CAKE
If you’ve never made a yogurt cake, YOU MUST! They are so simple and so delicious! My favorite recipe uses one cup of whole milk yogurt.
I think it’s clear why I am never without a container of FAGE in my fridge! It’s delicious and very versatile! Just today I used it as a pancake topper! The uses are endless. And if you need even more inspiration, check out the recipes on the FAGE website! This carrot ginger cake with greek yogurt frosting looks pretty perfect for Easter!
QUESTIONS
I would love to hear how you use plain Greek yogurt! Leave a comment and give me some good ideas! 🙂
Are you making any spring dietary shifts or changes?
I use greek yogurt in place of heavy cream in sauces. It changes the texture a bit but it makes for a healthier cream sauce!
I love Greek yogurt, but I agree that Fage is the best. I’m not always a name brand person but it definitely tastes better! I actually do not buy sour cream at all anymore, I use Greek yogurt as a replacement. My favorite is to put it on nachos and on a stuffed sweet potato, yummy!
Fage is my favorite! Thanks for sharing some new ideas to use it with. My go-to most nights for an after dinner snack is the Fage plain yogurt with some chocolate protein powder, collagen powder, maybe some powdered peanut butter and some dark chocolate chips! It’s SO good, I’m addicted
Yum! I love Fage 5% – in smoothies, as a snack, or a topping. I often mix mine with nut butter and fruit, which feels dessert-like but doesn’t have a ton of sugar.
Healthy banana splits! Slice a banana in half, top with a few dollops of Greek yogurt, drizzle with almond butter, add blueberries or strawberries and a shake of cinnamon. Great breakfast or snack!
I made the switch and it truly is better than other yogurts I’ve tried and easier to eat alone. To sweeten it up, I add a scoop of chocolate protein powder or PB2 and mix it in, and top with berries and pistachios. Delicious, filling breakfast!
Loving all of these ideas, can’t wait to implement some of them!!
You inspired me to have a yogurt bowl for breakfast this morning, for the first time in forever! I typically have oatmeal every morning, but love how filling yogurt is 🙂 thanks for all the ideas!
I’m happy to hear that I could bring a little inspiration into your morning! 🙂
All those breakfasts look so yummy!! Thanks for sharing, hope you are having a great day.
