Well, hello. It’s been quite a productive and fun Saturday over here. I had 4 dozen Butterscotch, Pretzel and Chocolate Chip Cookies baked before 9 a.m. and then practiced yoga, bathed the dog, moved furniture, met with the painter and hung out with two sets of friends. I’m happy.
I’m not super excited about “Falling Back” tomorrow. I hate the time change. I am a sun child so it is super depressing for me when it gets dark early and it’s freezing cold. Not a fan.
Let’s look on the bright side and focus on the things that I am FALLING FOR.
Doggie makeovers. Sullie got a bath today with new lavender and mint shampoo and a new collar and leash. She’s had a University of Georgia collar and leash for her whole puppy life and I am sick of people calling her a he. She’s now sporting bright blue and coral and smelling as sweet as she looks.
My new couch. I scored an amazing deal on this new sofa and got it for 50% off. I wanted something classic and simple that would serve as a good classic base for the rest of the room. I was so happy to drop my old leather sectional off at the Habitat for Humanity store and bring this home. The accent pillows will not stay. They came with the couch. I met with my painter today and have so many fun plans for the house. More details to come.
Desserts. I went to a housewarming party tonight and my friend was so amazing to send me home with all of these sweet treats. Pumpkin cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese and cake batter bars. YUM. I did bring stuffed mushrooms and cookies as a trade though! 🙂
Girlfriends. I am so lucky to have met such amazing girlfriends through the gym. I was just talking with someone tonight about how hard it is to move to Charlotte and not know anyone. I feel incredibly blessed for the friendships I have formed in the three years I have been here. It’s a testament to what can happen when you get involved and pursue things you love. I would say that 90% of my friends in Charlotte are from yoga and the gym.
The Georgia Bulldogs…who after a rocky start, beat Ole Miss 37-10 today. We’re in position to take the SEC East if we win against Auburn. GO DAWGS. I did reminisce with friends today about the game experience of being in the stadium. Not going to lie…I kind of prefer watching the games from the comfort of a couch these days and not tailgating all day, standing the entire game and then hiking back home after. One in-person game a year will do now, thank you!
I’m off to make a playlist for my yoga class in the morning. Also, for my Charlotte crew…I’ll be helping lead a donation-based class at Y2 Yoga tomorrow at 2:15 p.m., Kick Breast Cancer’s Ass-ana. We’re raising funds for Carolina Breast Friends. Suggested donation minimum is $20 but all contributions are welcome. Stillwater Plastic Surgery will match the first $15 of all donations. We’ll have three teachers leading class and two assistants. It’s going to be an awesome practice. Sign up online! 🙂
Tell me what you are falling for.
Jen, I’m so with you in terms of turning back the clock. I love waking up early and with the sun, so it takes me a while to get used to rising when it’s still dark outside.
where is that couch from? i am in the market for one (you probably saw on Pinterest!) and this one is great!
I’ve always been curious about how yoga teachers make their playlists for class… Do you just make a playlist of songs you like or do you figure out which song for which pose? How do you perfect the timing of everything while you’re teaching so that class ends on time? It sounds time consuming to pair songs and poses beforehand but sometimes they do seem so perfectly matched up! I’ve been traveling for the past few months in Asia and the yoga classes here do not have music, or it’s playing quietly… I miss the playlists from my studio at home!
I also would like to know how you perfect the timing of your playlist iwth the flow of the postures. Gotta get as much insight before I finish teacher training 🙂 Which I’m off to in a few minutes! AND where are your boots from? I need new black ones??!!
The south is just so friendly! I am playing with the idea of making those cookies since I cannot stop thinking about them!
Omg that pup face from Sullie slays me!!! Looks like you had a great Saturday! And pray tell: what are cake batter bars? They sound like somethingi need in my life…
