I haven’t shared a grocery haul in FOREVER so today is the day. I have been doing most of my shopping at ALDI during stay-at-home orders because my neighborhood store is convenient to get in and out of and has not been very crowded. For whatever reason, shopping at ALDI hasn’t given me quite as much anxiety as other stores. Another bonus is the cost savings as ALDI has consistently lower prices than stores like Whole Foods and Harris Teeter.
For this post I am going to share a recap of what I bought at ALDI during my weekly shopping trip last week. I am also going to share some of my ALDI favorites because I get asked ALL.THE.TIME. what I like to buy at ALDI! A lot of it is organic.
And haha, this post is not sponsored by ALDI…although my love for the store did start 5-6 years ago when I went on a sponsored trip to visit ALDI headquarters! I have truly become an #ALDIFan. 🙂

SOME OF MY ALDI FAVES
- Organic honey
- Organic natural peanut butter
- Organic (and fair trade!) whole bean coffee. You can’t see the price here but it’s only $4.28. I buy this ALL the time. It’s very good.
- Organic ranch and creamy Italian dressing. Have been loving both of these lately.
- Organic White Cheddar Puffs – no surprise that Finn loves these and calls them “Cheetos”
- Okay, that photo top left is small but LISTEN UP! ALDI sells ghee ($6.48 for 13 oz), organic coconut oil ($4.49 for 14 oz) and avocado oil ($5.49 for 17 oz).
- Jarred pesto (so good!)
- Organic beef and chicken bone and regular broth
- Once again the photo is small but LISTEN UP! Flax seed ($1.79 for 16 oz), chia seeds ($3.29 for 12 oz) and almond flour ($6.19 for 16 oz).
- Organic mac and cheese
- Canned organic diced tomatoes
- Organic spring mix, spinach and arugula. The prices are insane. $1.89 for the small 5 oz spinach clamshell and $3.59 for 16 oz of spring mix.
- Pineapples
- Organic bagged apples
- Medjool dates
- Avocados ($0.89 each!)
I buy a ton of other produce at ALDI, depending on what looks good. Example in my grocery haul above.
- Grass-fed ground beef
- Organic whole milk ($2.89 per half gallon!!! I swear it’s the Horizon brand repackaged for ALDI)
- Organic eggs
- Salsa, hummus and tzatziki
- Perfect bars
- GT’s kombucha
Speaking of refrigerated things, I love the cheese selection at ALDI and buy a lot of it. For some reason I missed taking photos but they have tons of delicious cheese options. Oh, I also like their plain full-fat organic Greek yogurt. FAGE is my favorite but the ALDI brand is cheaper and still delicious. I’ll buy it if I am there and don’t have a chance to get FAGE.
- Broccoli, sweet potato and kale and spinach bites. Finn loves these. They are easy to pop into the air fryer to serve with breakfast, lunch or dinner!
- Frozen seafood. I buy sea scallops, jumbo shrimp, wild salmon and ahi tuna regularly.
- Frozen veggie burgers

Fellow Aldi lover!
Yes, we are on the same page sister!
I love Aldi!
Their gluten-free section is so good if you have dietary restrictions. I also love their cauliflower pizza, knock-off halo top (“protein ice cream”), white cheddar popcorn, salsa and trail mix. And you can’t beat the “fun aisle” !
Yes, they do have a great gluten-free lineup!!! I haven’t tried their knock-off halo top (I’ve actually never even tried halo top!) so I’ll look out for that next time. The fun aisle is the BEST!
I love their flatbreads. We make flatbread pizzas with these and their sundried tomato romesco pesto for sauce and their fresh mozzarella and Kalamata olives. Love their frozen fruit for smoothies and their frozen seafood selection. The sea scallops are amazing. Also love their price on half and half.
Thanks for your recommendation! I will try the flatbreads next time I am there. Also LOVE the sea scallops!
The Aldi scallops are amazing! We always buy multiple packs to keep in the freezer.
Yes, I agree!
Wow! Based on your experience, I will have to give my local Aldi’s a try again. My past experiences have been disappointing. Maybe I need to shop earlier in the day.
I’m sorry to hear that! It’s definitely a different shopping experience but once you get used to it, it’s awesome. They updated/upgraded all of their stores the last few years and they’re so much nicer now!
Organic salsa Chipotle and Lime flavor (can’t remember the brand name off the top of my head) so good
Any and all produce; good quality and prices
goat cheese
coffee
Chocolate bars (again I can’t remember the name) lots good dark chocolate varieties.
We like similar things! 🙂
Couscous ready individual meals–artichoke and roasted red pepper!
Nuts, baby and toddler pouches, marshmallows and stars cereal for the kids, organic uncured beef hot dogs, and wine
Yum! I’ll have to look out for those meals! I also get almost all of my nuts and dried fruit at ALDI!
This is awesome, because I am thinking I am going to try ALDI this week. Your lists are very helpful!
Random question… have your ever bought bread there? Any thoughts on the quality if you have?
Hey Laura – I have bought bread at ALDI! It is good!
Thank you!!!
Moser Roth Chocolate: The orange almond one is awesome. Try them if you havent already. I love them because once you open the package, there are 5 individual wrapped bars in there. Great for portion control. Unwrapped chocolate leads to overeating…..for me at least!
Their spinach artichoke tzatziki, ciabatta, and their sourdough loaves if you can find them (for those of us who don’t bake their own!). And greeting cards, and all the impulse buys in the center aisles…
I love Aldi! I get almost everything there when I can, though I usually have to make a second stop at the local co-op for produce and meat depending on the selection. Recently I’ve been going to one or the other (Aldi or co-op) to avoid multiple stores and my bill is so much higher on the co-op trips, it’s crazy.
We have also been doing more ALDI shopping during stay-at-home and my favorite find has been the Brioche bagels!! They have a bit more of an “eggy” taste than plain bagels and I LOVE them! I am eating one now with cream cheese + strawberry preserves 🙂
The question is what don’t I love at aldi!?? I’m like you and just pick my produce based on what’s on “special buy” that week and what is looking good. I love that they have perfect bars and medjools for a decent price. Also love their whole wheat pitas, blue corn and flax tortilla chips, and the knock off girl scout cookies. And yes, the “center aisle” with all of the fun impulse buys – I’ve gotten a bicycle pump, a few rugs, and many other awesome finds there when I least expected it! I do get a kick out of what they consider to be “seasonal” sometimes though haha. Did you know that many of the products are the same or similar to those sold at Trader Joes? I think they were brothers who started the two stores or something like that!
LOVE Aldi. We used to be able to walk to one when I was living in Virginia – nothing like being able to avoid a parking lot, get some exercise, and get budget groceries!
Some personal favorites are the honey wheat pretzels (literally cannot stop eating them if I buy them), the sprouted bread, the super reasonably priced fancy cheeses/charcuterie. Around September/October, their German-import Oktoberfest offerings are also awesome – spätzle, sausages, and the works. All of this reminds me how much I miss going to multiple stores in a week to get exactly what I want from each place!!
