Thanks for all of the input on my hair color and recipe blog dilemma. The consensus was to go for the ombre trend (eek!!!) and to combine PBR and Bakin’ and Eggs. So, I have some work to do! I’m not sure how long it will take for me to figure out how to get everything transitioned over but I will be reaching out to my tech guy ASAP and researching options for indexing the recipes so that they’re searchable/easy to navigate. I’m so excited to continue to develop and grow Peanut Butter Runner!
Remember a few months ago when I posted a video of my attempt at kipping pullups? It’s a skill that we work a lot in CrossFit. I’ve been plugging away at them for months and I finally strung THREE together last night! I’ve come a long way!
I did them again this morning to make sure it wasn’t a fluke. I can’t wait to show my coaches and to do them in a workout….although I’m going to be careful to avoid the hand ripping that is common with kipping pullups. Bleeding palms? No thanks, I am not that hardcore!
A few recent eats…
Peach and banana oatmeal. My first bowl of oatmeal in ages. It is way too hot in the south right now for oatmeal.
Avocado, tomato and cheese sandwich on sourdough.
Dinner out with a friend at Nolen Kitchen. Miso glazed salmon over shitake risotto.
And that’s all I’ve got for ya. Have a great day!
Oh She Glows (vegan food blog) just updated her site with a new recipe indexing system. It may be helpful.
Your hair will look fabulous no matter what you do and congrats on the pullups! Your blog is still such an inspiration for me. Thank you!!
Food looks great!! AMAZING job on the kipping pullups! you rock. Tearing palms?? I’m with you..no thanks. I’ve seen lots of people with huge blisters and blood, eek. Think lifting gloves would help prevent that? I don’t know if they’d help or get in the way when it comes to pullups.
And yay ombreeee!!! Can’t wait to see it ๐
Yay!!!! You got the kip!!! I was a little too excited when I got mine and totally worried too that I wouldn’t be able to do them the next day!!! It is an amazing feeling to know you did them and not to mention you did 3 in a row!!! That is awesome!
You need to be my personal chef. I’ll be at Body Pump tonight, you’re my favorite instructor. AND i’m obsessed with your blog now as well! ๐
*meant tomorrow!
No, tonight. hahaha I need it to be the weekend. My brain is fried!!!
so sad i missed you! i’ll be back this week!
I’m happy you’re combining the blogs! I always loved your recipe posts ๐
Wow, congrats on the pullups! I was afraid you were going to hit your face on the bar during the video haha
I can’t wait to see pictures of your new do! ๐
Congrats on the kipping pull ups! That is seriously so so awesome!
How about some muscle ups???? ๐
i’m working the skill! i can do jumping muscle ups now…hopefully i can do the real thing one day!
Oh dear. The kipping reminds me of the major hand blisters I would get from the bi-level monkey bars in elementary school while “training for my Olympic debut”. I was sure to make the Bama gymnastics team and be on my way to the gold! I STILL have a few rough patches on my paws…
BTW – your food pics make me want to move to Charlotte and dine with you every day! Super pumped that Bakin’ and Eggs is coming back.
this is my favorite comment of the month of july.
xo
Great job on the kipping pull-ups! Those are intense.
Can’t wait to see your hair, I’m positive you’ll pull off that look fabulously.
Woohoo, kipping pull-ups! Congrats! They do not look easy, ha.
Summer tomato sandwiches = seriously one of the best things about summer. Yum!
Your kips look great!!! Look up “tape grips” for crossfit made with athletic tape. They will save your hands and you can reuse them over and over.
thanks for the tip. i will most definitely check that out!
Clap, clap, clap. Good work! My arms hurt watching you do pull ups! Maybe I’ll show you my technique!
I agree that it’s too hot in the summer for oatmeal….but i LOVE overnight oats in the summer. cool, filling, and oh so tasty! Do you eat overnight oats often?
yes! much more frequently than hot oats during the summer. i especially love that i can make them ahead of time!
Nice job!
I actually tried CrossFit today for the first time after reading about it so much on your blog. I really liked it! Thanks for being an inspiration!
so awesome! i’m happy to hear you liked it and that i encouraged you to give it a try!
your kipping pull-ups look awesome! I am still using the band but I will get there someday ๐ isn’t seeing the improvement awesome?!?
You are motivating!
