How is it already Friday afternoon? This week has flown by – busy, busy, busy! We’ve been working like crazy on the house trying to get unpacked and establish a small degree of order before our friends Cristen and Graham arrived Friday. We planned this visit months ago and it just happened to end up coinciding with the house closing. We don’t get to see each other nearly enough so we didn’t want to postpone the visit.
Brandon and I made the final push to get ready for Cristen and Graham last night and were up until 1 a.m. working but we finally feel good about the progress we’ve made so far. It’s been a long and sleep-deprived week and my body is definitely feeling the effects. Ready for a fun and relaxing weekend!
So here’s the last two days in pictures.
I woke up at 5:20 yesterday morning with a massive headache. The whole left side of my head was killing me (residual from the headache I had the previous day – guessing it was stress/tension related). I couldn’t go back to sleep so I got up and did some work on the computer and made coffee and banana oats.
After caffeine, oatmeal and ibuprofen, my head felt a little better but I struggled with the weird one-sided headache all day yesterday. I never get headaches – was NOT fun.
I came home for lunch and had a salad and leftover pasta salad.
My pre-BodyPump snack was an unpictured Cherry Pie Larabar. My all-time favorite flavor. BodyPump was interesting last night. My co-instructor got stuck in a meeting at work. She was supposed to teach the first half of class so I had to scramble to come up with a playlist for the first couple tracks. It was all good though and we had a great class. We had a couple first time BodyPumpers who told me after class that they loved it. Yay!
After BodyPump I went to Target and spent way too much money on things for the house. It was painful but necessary. I didn’t get home until 8:45 and I was hungry and exhausted. I knew we had a ton of work in front of us so I made myself the ultimate comfort food dinner – eggs.
This scramble had 1 egg, 1 egg white, splash of milk, spinach, sundried tomatoes, feta and fresh basil. A piece of toast with a little bit of Smart Balance spread and a cranberry-pomegranate/seltzer mocktail on the side.
I decided to forgo my Friday morning hot vinyasa yoga class in favor of sleep since we didn’t get in bed until 1 a.m. I slept until 7 and it was glorious. It was the first time all week that I was able to sleep past 6 and it was needed. Breakfast was unpictured banana oats (just look at the picture above) and coffee.
Came home on my lunch break today to whip up some Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream to serve for dessert tonight. The recipe was super simple and I will not disclose how much of the unfrozen ice cream I ate but let’s just say I cleaned the blender! It was so good. Can’t wait to try the finished frozen product tonight.
Lunch was a green monster but I had to choke it down. I think I overdid it on the ice cream. Oops. 😳
Finishing some last minute errands before our guests arrive! Have a great weekend everyone!
