Happiest of Fridays!
First, can I just say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for being so supportive and awesome during my Whole30? I know many of you are waiting for my program recap and I promise it is coming on Monday. The most important thing is that my eyes are clear for the first time in 2 years so for that I am so, so, so grateful.
I’m going to end the week on a lighter note and share some shots from my iPhone.
Okay, first. Let’s talk about iPhones. I just got the 6S Plus and it is buggy! Don’t get me wrong, I love the phone (the display and camera are awesome!) but I’m having hard time with a few things…
- The screen gets stuck in horizontal orientation and will not switch no matter how much shaking and tapping I do. (And I have ensured that I have standard zoom and unlocked the screen rotation.)
- The thumb unlock is temperamental. (Maybe I need to redo the scan?)
- While I was in Florida it shut off and wouldn’t turn back on without a hard restart.
Given that I’ve only had the phone for two weeks, I’m a little nervous! Anyone else had issues?
(Side note: please ignore the 8,000+ gmail notifications. I’m bad but I’m not that bad. That account has pretty much turned to junk.)
My sweet girls.
Four friend dates this week, two of which involved babies. I am in the midst of a major connection phase right now on all fronts but friends and family are leading the charge.
Girl’s nights have changed a little but for the better. 😉
Girl’s night “build your own salad” buffet.
I checked out the new Sunflour location in Charlotte and enjoyed a hot cup of mint tea while I knocked out our email newsletter for the yoga studio before meeting another friend for lunch.
CPR, first aid, AED and oxygen recertification at the Y. Every.Single.Year. They are so strict on their standards but every time I do it I feel so grateful to have the knowledge and skills. Even simulating the skills gives me chills when I think about possibly having to do it in real life.
I was featured in a local magazine as part of a wellness series for the new year. I shared meal ideas and a video of my popular 1,000 rep home workout so be sure to check it out. I’m wearing the most fierce “Lion Tights” from The Track & Field Store Charlotte. They are equal parts functional and fashionable!
One of my readers emailed me to let me know she was adopting an 8-year-old golden from a rescue and asked for advice of things like food, toys, grooming, etc. I got crazy excited and asked her to send pics. Look how happy this sweet boy is in his new home!
Another reader spotted my book in Whole Foods in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. I lived there for a year after college so pretty awesome to have it being sold there!
We’ll just close with this. Made me smile! 🙂
What are your weekend plans?
What made you smile this week?
I’m sorry to hear about your phone troubles! I got a 6s after Christmas and within three weeks the display went out. I went to the Apple Store and they replaced the display but two days later the same exact thing happened. At that point they just replaced the phone and it’s been fine ever since. So strange.
I’m glad they replaced it! Hoping I don’t have to take mine in!
Ahhh that last picture is too cute! I have yet to try the new Sunflour location, but I am excited for another that is slightly closer to my apartment. This weekend, in the mix of studying I am having a wine night with a friend, going to a baby shower/Super Bowl party, and heading to a few local breweries.
Happy weekending, Jen!
Sounds like an amazing weekend to me!!
Hi Jen! My husband and I are getting a goldendoodle puppy in May (so excited!). Would love to hear your tips on training, etc.
Have a great weekend!
Oh that last picture…exactly what I would do 😉 I’m actually in the market for a new iPhone (just shattered my screen this week) but don’t know if I’d like the 6 Plus because of the size. Can you hold it in your hand to run?
Not really. It’s pretty huge. I would go check it out at the apple store to see what you think!
First, you look (and look like you feel :)) AWESOME in that pic! Love the tights. 🙂 Second, that sweet 8 year-old face makes me want to adopt an older dog. Right now. And, I already have two (husky & lab mix). I still love the iphone, but all of he software updates since the last IOS relaunch has about drove me crazy. Every time I update, there is a new feature issue. Hopefully they will get it all right and settled soon! Have a fab weekend! 🙂
Thank you!!
That last picture totally made my day!
So glad! You can’t help but smile!
So happy your eyes are better!! I am looking forward to your recap/re introduction and future food plans, if any apply.
How sweet is that golden?! Melt!
Weekend plans= market for eggs and such. Nothing else new here. Just colder this weekend here in Charleston. Have a happy one!!!
Thank you! I’ll let you know about food plans depending on the reintroduction process, which I will do a recap of once it’s over!
I want a dog 😛 <3 So cute!!!!
Congrats on the feature!!! So lovely!
I've always had an Andriod, but everyone else in my family has iphones. I think I need to make the switch, but I'm so hesitant!
Thank you! I’ve always loved my iPhone!
I am so happy to hear about your eyes clearing up!!! So glad the Whole30 did what you hoped it would! Also love that you’re hanging out with friends and family a lot lately 🙂 The best. Happy weekend, Jen!
Thank you!
That photo of you is SOOO pretty!! Happy Friday. Hope your phone bugs get figured out.
Thanks so much!
I am thinking of upgrading my phone soon…I feel so outdated with my 5S…That yoga picture of you is beautiful with those fun pants! Congrats on being featured! I’m heading over to check it out now…XOXO
Thank you!
My phone did the same thing and I finally had to go into Apple and they had to wipe it clean and reset it and I’ve not had a problem since.
Good to know. Thanks!
Wow I am so impressed that you weren’t totally winded during that video!!! And you did it all in one shot? I always have to piece mt videos together lol. I told a friend of mine who was experiencing the same problem with her eyes about your blog. She didn’t go Whole30, but she does notice a huge difference when she’s eating clean. Very interesting.
love the video! can’t wait to try it along with you!
I didn’t even know Sunflour opened a new location…woohoo! Can’t wait to check it out! Im hosting a girl’s night/book club at my house next week and was trying to figure out what to serve…totally using the idea of a salad bar! so fun! looks like you had a ton of great fixings.
