Happy Friday and happy Halloween!
Back in my advertising days I used to always have “The Cure Fridays” where I listened to The Cure Radio on Pandora as I was wrapping up my work for the week. They’re one of my all-time favorite bands.
So in the spirit of that, I present you with a “Friday I’m In Love” post.
Luna’s Living Kitchen
Luna’s Living Kitchen is a vegan restaurant here in Charlotte that has the most beautiful, organic and healthy foods. I’ve somehow ended up here three times in the last week. Lucky me. This morning I had this museli bowl.
And earlier this week I enjoyed this smoothie with bananas, maca, spinach, hemp milk, cinnamon, almond butter and cacao. It gave me inspiration to start adding cinnamon to some of my smoothies at home, especially now that it’s fall.
The Hornets
Our local NBA team was founded in 1988 as the Hornets but in 2003 the franchise name was changed to the Bobcats. Our city never fully embraced the Bobcats brand and this year the team went back to the Hornets name. It’s been a BIG deal here in Charlotte.
I went to the season opening game on Wednesday and the arena was on fire! Everyone was decked out in their Hornets gear and they went over the top in making the first game of the season a really special night. There were members of the original Hornets team in attendance and Michael Jordan (who has controlling interest in the Hornets) was on the court for the game.
I was especially excited when they announced that Darius Rucker was singing the national anthem (better known as “Hootie”). He was great.
The Hornets played pretty terribly but came back from a 25 point deficit to tie the game in the last few seconds and then won in overtime. It was such a fun evening! I can’t wait to go to more Hornets games this season.
St. Vincent
I went to see the movie St. Vincent with a friend last night and it was so good! Bill Murray was spot on and the whole movie was just done really well. They casted it perfectly and each character added so much to the overall story and plot. It’s funny, poignant and uplifting. If you’re looking for a movie to catch soon, I totally recommend this one.
Baby Sullie
I posted this picture on Instagram yesterday for Throwback Thursday and it’s making me so happy. Look at baby Sullie!
8 years later and she still lets me hold her like this.
Sumo Suits
This is how we entertain ourselves at 7 a.m. at the gym on Halloween. We all took turns putting on this sumo suit.
I’m not doing anything for Halloween tonight other than passing out candy to cute trick or treaters so it was fun to get festive this morning.
What’s your “Friday I’m in Love?”
Are you dressing up for Halloween?
I would love to try this Luna’s Love Kitchen! I keep reading about it and wish I had one here in NY.So exciting that basketball season started again. It’s so funny when teams try to change names and the fans won’t accept it. It’s like when they change jerseys, we totally resist that too.
Aw baby Sullie!
Haha, now try some burpees in that sumo suit 😉
Still undecided whether we are heading to a costume party tonight or not!
That sounded like an exciting game! We are planning to go see St. Vincent tomorrow – can’t wait! We have 2 Halloween parties to go to this wknd. We’re going as Amy & Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. 🙂
Happy Halloween! Nothing planned tonight though we are playing it by ear. 🙂
I”m thinking of squatting in my red tuto and Minnie Mouse ears tonight (with black tights of course)! Luna’s is awesome! Thanks for sharing that hilarious pic of the sumo suit
Nothing too exciting for us tonight either! I’m flying to Georgia first thing tomorrow morning so knowing I’m going to see my sister and parents this weekend is totally making my Friday!
that smoothie sounds delish!
That smoothie sounds amazing and that sumo suit is hilarious! My crazy dad rented sumo suits and the wrestling pads for my brother’s college graduation party. I went “in the ring” with my best friend. My brother wrestled my dad. Family and friends thought it was such a hoot.
Happy Halloween! Are YOU dressing up?
I love adding cinnamon to my smoothies and I have currently been loving my slow cooker. I made a slow cooker apple steel cut oatmeal recipe and a curried lentil with chicken and potatoes…Both are awesome and perfect for Fall. Happy Halloween!
I am in LOVE with Baby Sullie! I love that pic, and the fast forward to 8 Years Sullie! Oh how doggie years fly! I didn’t dress up for Halloween either! I enjoy seeing all the kiddos though!
I love this time of year, but I am not a big fan of dressing up. There is a huge parade and the streets fill with trick-or-treaters so we handed out candy and watched all the happy kids and admired all the great costumes.
I love looking back at pictures of when my dog was a little pup too! Sometimes I wish I could go back and relive those puppy days! 🙂
oh sullie – i seriously can’t get enough of her and her photos. she is truly a kindred spirit.
