Happy Friday y’all! I felt like a little bit of a disaster this week juggling motherhood, work and general life stuff. Too many balls up in the air but it’s a blessing of a challenge to have. Hoping to get myself organized and on track over the weekend. 🙂
My first order of business this evening was to take a yoga class instead of just teaching. I typically feel all the pressure that I should be working instead of taking time for things like my practice, but  I’m really working to chance that. I know that it’s super important that I take care of me so that I can show up as the mom, friend, daughter, mother, employee, partner that I want to be. I took my friend Rian’s class for the first time in over a year and reported to him after class that it was the hardest class I’ve taken since having Finn.
Getting back to a regular personal practice has been difficult for me but it’s something that is important to me. I feel I’m in the middle of a big shift around yoga…in both how I want to practice and how I want to teach. I will share more about this in another post once I have a better grasp on where I’m going with it. Things are changing so much and it’s so wonderful. <3
YOGA LOVE ALWAYSÂ
Speaking of yoga, my next 200-hour teacher training kicks off two weeks from today! I am offering a summer training through Charlotte Yoga at our Southend studio. We have a great group registered and I’m getting so pumped about embarking on another TT journey. While I adore teaching regular yoga classes to students, teaching other teachers is my absolute passion. I’ve known it’s something that I’ve wanted to do since I sat in my very first fitness training 10 years ago! It’s such an amazing thing to help others step into their power, build confidence and develop their leadership skills.
You can find more info here. I am offering another 200-hour TT in Tennessee this fall. And then stay tuned for 2020 dates here in Charlotte!
PRSA INFLUENCER MARKETING PANEL
While we are talking career, I was invited to speak on a panel about influencer marketing at the PRSA of Charlotte’s annual symposium. I was joined by Melissa, Julie and Marsha and our panel was moderated by Ryan Jor El. We chatted for about an hour about various topics around how brands/organizations can work with influencers to support their marketing/PR goals.
Julie and I were chatting before the panel kicked off about our days as members of the PRSSA (the student organization of PRSA) back in college. Fun fact for those of you who don’t know…I was a public relations major in the journalism school at UGA!
ATTENTION TARGET SHOPPERS
I received so many questions about this dress. While I was in Florida I picked up a few things at Target. Unfortunately, I cannot find the link to the exact dress but this is similar. I also bought two jumpsuits. I wore this one to the PRSA event yesterday and received a lot of compliments on it while out running errands after the event. Given that I don’t understand what is in style right now (seriously, it’s perplexing), I was pumped that I “got it right.” Haha. This is the other jumpsuit that I bought. It’s casual and soft. I can can see myself throwing on after a yoga class or for a casual dinner with my girlfriends.
Oh one more…in LOVE with this bathing suit. Classic color with a bit of a fun cut and such a great value. It also covers most of my butt, which I really appreciate. I’m not a big fan of the bottoms that leave a lot hanging out.
Target has always done a great job with their fashion but I feel like it just keeps getting better. I’ve also seen some cute stuff from Walmart lately (check out this post from my friend Bess) and I wanted to order probably 50% of what I saw in this post about spring Amazon fashion finds from Mallory.
I really enjoyed “getting dressed” on Thursday and it’s something that I’d like to do more often. I live my life in athleisure. That is great but I’m to the point where I don’t even feel comfortable in “real clothes” anymore and that needs to change. I feel like it’s so much easier to dress yourself in the summer by throwing on shorts and a tank or a casual dress so that’s going to be a priority for me!
SMELLY STUFF
In a very random change of pace, this body wash smells so good! I don’t know about you but having nice shower products like body wash, shampoo and conditioner, and face wash can really take my shower experience to the next level.
BABY BEAUTY
While we’re on the topic of bath and beauty products, I have to share with you a high-end baby skincare line that I’m kind of obsessed with. So a friend of mine founded this company and their products are LEGIT!
I’ve been using Best Ever Baby products since January and they are incredible! This organic line is perfect for moms of babies with sensitive skin or those who are picky about what you put on your baby.
Here’s what we are using:
If you’d like to try these products, Best Ever Baby will send you sample sizes of everything for $15. If you decide to purchase a full-size product, your $15 goes towards that. It’s an investment but one that I think it worthwhile if you’re concerned about what is going on your baby’s skin.
I love everything about how these products smell, feel and perform. I hope you’ll try them too!
I could keep going all night with this but I have to climb 50 floors of stairs on Saturday morning so I think we can all agree that it’s best if I go to bed.
Yikes.
Can’t wait to report back on this. Haha. My mom and grandmother are very concerned about this endeavor.
YOUR TURN
What are your fitness plans for the weekend? Any races, classes, endeavors?Â
Where do you do most of your clothes shopping? Do you mostly wear “real clothes” or athleisure?Â
Thats exciting that your teaching training is coming up soon, I am looking forward to your post about yoga coming. Thanks for sharing, hope you are having a great day.

I consider myself blessed to have found that wonderful tank dress at my local Target. A New Day is my absolute fave clothing line, the knits are so soft!
