Hey, hey! I hope you’re having a great Friday and are getting excited about the weekend. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s World Record Boot Camp attempt!!!
This “Friday I’m In Love” post can be labeled the puppies and babies edition (but keep reading because there are some other more useful faves as well).
On Monday I got to snuggle with this 11-week old beautiful boy.
Look at those eyes!!! He belongs to one of my yoga students and his name is Chief. I’m the crazy dog lady of the studio so I get to see pictures and sometimes even visit my student’s new puppies…and it makes me so happy!
Also making my heart explode are my friend’s babies. Look at this cutie! I met a friend for a walk yesterday and she walked her two {human} girls (two and a half and six months) and I walked my two {fur child} girls. We were quite a site to see.
One more…I went to hang out with a friend whose husband was traveling for work on Wednesday night and got some QT in with this sweet boy.
Too much cuteness in one week!
I got to sample a new menu addition from our sushi chef at Namastay Kitchen this week. Crab salad and cucumber on the inside and flame seared salmon on the outside. He topped it with this delicious seasoned crunchy cashew mix.
As I’ve shared in previous posts, I’m trying to clean up my beauty routine a bit. Two current faves are Jason Rosewater Body Wash. It smells so good! And last week I picked up a new hair care line at ULTA, Maui Moisture. I selected the Heal + Hydrate line for dry/damaged hair. It’s full of aloe vera, shea butter, macadamia oil and coconut milk and smells amazing. All of the Maui Moisture products are silicone, paraben and sulfate free and priced so affordably at just $8.99 a piece!
Fridays are always a good day to share wine finds, right? They were sampling this Latue Spanish tempranillo rose at Whole Foods yesterday and I was super impressed for the price point. It’s just $8.99 but very light, refreshing and easy to drink. It leads with a strawberry note but isn’t sweet. I picked up three bottles, one for us and two to give away as gifts. Bonus, it’s made with organic grapes.
Did you know Facebook has a feature where you can save posts, links, pictures, etc in your newsfeed? This is SO helpful for me! I feel like I’m forever wanting to read articles later or remember quotes/pics that are posted but can never find them after the fact.
And finally, I don’t know if I can say I “love” the new look of Instagram but I definitely like it. I’m always a fan of clean, simple design and the more white space, the better. The new logo is so different though! Have you updated the app yet? What do you guys think?
I’m off to shower and get dressed in real world clothes (yay!). We’re going out for dinner with my trainer and her husband! 🙂
Any Friday faves to share?
Any shampoo/conditioner combos are you loving at the moment? I’ve always liked to switch mine up every few moths.
So much cuteness! Some of my Friday Favorites would have to be outdoor music festivals. We went to a local one last night and it was so beautiful–definitely made me ready for summer! Another favorite would be my citronella essential oil! It smells heavenly and will be sure to keep the mosquitoes away!
Yes, so agree with you on the outdoor music. Super relaxing and fun summer activity. Can you share what oil you use? Mosquitos LOVE me and I’d love to try it this summer.
Hi Jen! I am fairly new to your blog but I love all your posts and have really enjoyed catching up on posts and following along!
I was hoping you could give me some advice! I am a runner and I have recently noticed a lot of improvements in my running, which I love, but I find myself wanting to really do more yoga. I am afraid to cut down my running too much because I don’t want to lose the speed/endurance I have built up, but I really want to practice yoga more often and it is difficult to find the time to run as much as I am now and practice yoga as often as I would like. Do you have any advice? How many yoga classes per week does it usually take to start seeing strength/flexibility improvements?
Jen – great question from your reader, I ditto this, what do you suggest about running? Love to run but my doctor, trainer and husband, discourage it.
They suggest more weights to build muscle…please help.
Thanks,
Sabrina
Oahu, Hawaii 🙂
Hi Sabrina – I’m working on a post about this! I’m hoping to get it up today.
Hi Megan,
Thanks for reading and for taking the time to comment. Glad you found me! 🙂
I am writing a post about your question now and hope to get it up this afternoon!
Every time you post a picture of sushi I am literally drooling!! Looks like you’ve had a great week 🙂
I always have a hard time with shampoo, as my hair tends to be greasy and very fine. I even went no poo for a long time and it ended up seriously damaging my hair. The best I’ve found recently is Maple Holistics Degrease (found on amazon). They also offer a free product of choice if you post an honest amazon review, which was pretty awesome 🙂
Hey Ashley – we are so lucky to have such an awesome sushi chef at our restaurant! He’s so super talented and creative.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Speaking of hair…I had been reading about hair masks, so I actually made one our of egg, coconut oil, and olive oil. I think that it actually worked! i’m going to try it again tonight. There are tons of “recipes” of hair masks on pinterest so I figured I’d give it a whirl.
Also, the new sushi roll looks amazing!!!
Oh I am going to research adding the egg in there. That sounds awesome for the mask!
I am also trying to clean up my beauty routine. I feel like I have put wayyyyy too many chemicals in my body already. Plus, I want to get away from animal tested items and even use less and less things in plastic packaging.
Anyways, I am OBSESSED with Trichomania from Lush. It is a solid shampoo. I honestly thought I couldn’t get into it at first, but after a couple of weeks—I am a believer! I don’t even use a conditioner with it now and my hair is soft and frizz-free. Also, it’s amazing for gym bags and traveling because it just stores in this little square tin. No risk of shampoo covered clothes. 🙂
Thanks for this recommendation! I’ve never heard of a solid shampoo before so I’ll check that out!
