Happy Friday!!!! ๐
How has your first (official) week of summer been? Mine has been pretty good with the exception of wishing that I could get down to Georgia to see my grandmother.
First things first, some PBR news.
- Check out my guest post on Scatterbrain Jane about training for your first half marathon.
- Sweet Erin at Almost Over Now included PBR in her list of 10 health blogs to read.
- Don’t miss my Summer Reading List – a round up of your favorite books!
- Hey Charlotte friends! Lululemon is hosting a FREE event on Saturday to celebrate their grand opening. Eight hours of yoga and fitness classes in Circle Court at SouthPark Mall – 11 a.m. -6 p.m. I will be teaching a 4 p.m. yoga class! Come get your sweat on!
So now that we’re all caught up on housekeeping news, let’s talk about my day. This will not come as a surprise but my day started with ashtanga at Y2 Yoga followed by overnight oats at my desk. But not just any overnight oats, beautiful ones!
I am pretty sure that every time I go to the yoga studio, someone new tells me that they tried overnight oats and are hooked. Yay! Today’s delicious mix included oats, bananas, greek yogurt, milk, chia seeds, cinnamon, blueberries and dried cranberries overnight and then I topped it with blackberries, raspberries, a sprinkle of vanilla almond granola and sunflower butter this morning. One of my favorite combos yet!
I stopped by Great Harvest on my way home for lunch to pick up a loaf of Dakota. Lunch was an open faced sandwich with Dakota, pepper peach jam, mixed greens and brie. Carrots and pretzels on the side.
For the first time in THREE WEEKS I didn’t have to teach after work today! I got home at 5:45 and didn’t know what to do with myself…so I cleaned! ๐
And then we decided to walk to Duckworth’s for happy hour.
In addition to Thursday being $3 pint night, it was also Stone Brewing Company night. We visited the Stone Brewery when we were in San Diego visiting friends and it’s been a favorite of ours ever since. We walked about a mile and a half to Duckworth’s, had a beer and then walked home. A lovely evening!
We didn’t have anything planned for dinner (I have been a terrible menu planner lately) so dinner was a bit random. Brandon had a quesadilla and I had a tuna melt. I haven’t made tuna in forever – it was delicious! Kettle chips on the side.
Well, that’s all I’ve got for you tonight. Hope you have a fun Friday and awesome weekend. Any fun plans? See y’all later!
Thanks for linking back to me too ~ I didn’t realise you’d even see the post as my blog is such a small and strange creation in its own little niche: I’m honoured to even be included here!
I’m not surprised everyone admires your overnight oats ~ they always look lovely so I can only imagine how delicious they taste!
you are so welcome!
Happy Friday! It’s my first day of summer vacation and I couldn’t be happier!

Your lunch looks delicious! Nothing like fresh bread a melty cheese!
I’ve gotten quite a few coworkers hooked on overnight oats. I love when they tell me how great they are. Yay for healthy breakfast!
