Hi! I have mixed emotions about the weekend being here. On one hand, this has been a rough week and I’m glad it’s over. On the other, I’m having major anxiety about what I’m going to do when Sunday rolls around and I don’t head to the studio to teach. Breathe…I will be okay. (Who wants to take me to brunch and feed me mimosas to calm me down? No, really.)
A few weeks ago I did a Q & A video post. I received good feedback on it so I’m going to make it a monthly thing. I asked for questions on Facebook and Twitter today and got some good responses. Here is a video with my answers!
Topics covered include…
– Suggestions for yoga as cross training for runners
– Food staples and meal prep
– How I workout when I’m in a slump/funk
– Do I count classes I teach as workouts
– Trying CrossFit during marathon training
– Prenatal yoga
– Training plans for first marathons
Check it out and let me know what you think and if you have questions for my next video post.
I don’t have many remarkable eats to share with you other than today’s beautiful lunch.
I had lunch at Bricktops and had the Palm Beach Salad with an avocado, crab, tomato, shrimp and egg stack. It was a splurge lunch ($16!) but so worth it. Tons of seafood and beautiful presentation.
And then I nearly died this evening in CrossFit. This workout was so awesome and left me dripping in sweat and with a racing heart. I literally left a puddle of sweat on the floor during the burpees. And in case anyone wants to know, farmer carries are just walking with really heavy dumbbells or kettle bells. I used 35 pound dumbbells in each hand. I finished the workout in 26:24.
That’s all I’ve got for ya. Have a great weekend!

That is my favorite salad at Bricktops too – worth every penny! That WOD sounds killer – if I knew that was coming, I might eat 2 Palm Beach salads to prepare. ๐ Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks for the video ๐ You should definitely continue doing them!!
Thanks for answering my question on prenatal yoga. I would definitely like to give it a shot. I’d like to incorporate new exercises into my pregnancy, like swimming too. It’s definitely different trying to figure out what to do. At the moment I walk and lift weights. Hope you have a great weekend!!
It’s a bit far of a drive for me but if I lived closer I’d gladly accompany you out to brunch! As a substitute I promise to think of you as I have a mimosa (or two!) this weekend.
Love the video!! ๐
… and that salad looks amazing!
The videos are such a good idea. I love that you touch on so many topics and always ones that I am curious about! Thanks!
I love the video Q&A! I’m glad you’re going to start doing them monthly. =)
Also, thanks for always posting pictures of the cross-fit WODs. I’ve always been extremely intimidated to try Crossfit, but seeing the actual workouts makes it not as scary. I know it’s probably way more intense than it looks but they still look doable. I don’t have the time/money right now to join a Crossfit gym but it’s definitely a goal for the future!
First time poster. I found your blog about a month ago and think it’s really great! I like everything you post about. That so much of your life is about fitness is kind of a dream, and I’m always impressed at your consistent healthy cooking habits. So any future posts about how you manage it like you mentioned in the video sound great! I look forward to keeping up with your postings!
I like you video post – I always think it is so interesting to see what questions readers have! I am interested in yoga teacher training programs and have researched a lot of them out there, for your next video post, I would love to hear your thoughts on comparing different ones, how to evaluate them, what to look for, and if there are any top training programs.
And your lunch looks amazing – it’s like all of my favorite things put together ๐
This is probably too personal, but I’ve been wondering if are still married? You haven’t mentioned your husband for a while.
