Hi! Yay for Friday! Yay for a long weekend! I have a ton going on right now and wasn’t feeling very inspired about today’s post. I decided to ask on Facebook what you guys wanted me to blog about and I received a lot of great suggestions and questions. I decided to answer them in a video post. We’ve got everything from running and strength training to staying motivated to workout to “when am I going to do a tri?” Enjoy!
If y’all like the video blog I will do them more often. It’s a fun and easy way for me to answer your questions. Just let me know. Oh, and a warning…my Southern accent is apparently feeling rather prominent today! ๐
Just a few meals for you.
Last night’s dinner. Panini with spinach, Italian meats and a delicious smoked cheese on sourdough. Cooked in cast iron with Kerrygold salted butter. Avocados, grape tomatoes, lime juice and salt on the side along with a slice of watermelon and strawberries.
Today’s breakfast was overnight oats made from Bob’s Red Mill Museli plain Greek yogurt, almond coconut milk, chia seeds, blueberries, bananas and strawberries. Justin’s Maple Almond Butter and Crofter’s Superfruit Spread on top. I was out of Greek yogurt and craving overnight oats so badly this morning that I went to the grocery at 6:45 a.m. (um, not quite looking my best) to restock.
Lunch today was a crazy bowl of food. Spinach on the bottom, topped with couscous that was cooked with squash, kale, onions, tomatoes, olives and chickpeas. On the top, more tomatoes, goat cheese and a mix of Greek yogurt and mashed avocados. (Still not sick of them!)
Have a wonderful weekend! Be safe and have fun!
Hey, Jen! I stumbled across your blog recently….I am also a trainer (who loves yoga, thinking about doing my teacher training) and I really enjoy your posts! Its hard to find blogs I really like of girls with he se background! You are really great on camera! So pretty! Loved your thoughts on staying sane when taking a mandatory hiatus from exercise. Have a great weekend!
Holy typos… Writing on my phone, sorry about that!
Meant to say “the same background”
Thank you so much for answering my vacation exercise question! Whenever I am on vacation, I often slip into vacation mode and really struggle to stay with my routine and workout. I really like your idea of starting the day by knocking out a workout before breakfast so you can relax the rest of the day! You definitely changed my outlook on vacay exercising!
Thanks again and have a great Memorial Day weekend!
Thanks, Jenn! I appreciated your response. encouragement to continue doing regular squats, for sure. ๐
You should def do more vlogs ๐
Love the video post! Your accent brings me back to living in Memphis for a few years and the fun southern twang I got so accustomed to hearing. You should check into running an Urbanathlon. They are put on by Men’s Health. It’s a longer run (10-12) miles with urban obstacles (running stairs in the Bears stadium in Chicago, climbing over taxis and buses). We have run the Chicago race twice. They have also had runs in NYC and San Fran. Have a fabulous holiday weekend!
Loved the video post! You should do more of these!
Have a great weekend!
glad to know that I am not the only one who enjoys working out while on vacation!
Good tips for staying motivated too!
I would love more yoga-centric vlogs!
Thanks for the post Jen! I really appreciate the advice on motivation. Sometimes I can get in such a bad funk and when I do it’s so hard to make myself exercise. Yet sometimes it’s exercise that ends up getting me out of it (like playing a netball game or something). I’ll definitely be keeping in mind your advice on thinking about how good I’ll feel afterwards.
I love the idea of the vlog AND that you answered my question. Thanks for the perspective ๐
