I had the most wonderful Thursday. I feel so grateful for so many things…my job working at Metro not only doing something I love but doing it with amazing people, the friendships I have made here in Charlotte, the opportunity to teach yoga and being a part of the yoga community as a whole and at Y2 Yoga, good food and hard workouts.
Breakfast before teaching a yoga private was a smoothie from Whole Foods with kale, spinach, almond butter, almond milk, dates, bananas and berries.
Lunch salad with all kinds of yumminess delivered to me at work while I was in a long meeting! 🙂
Today’s workout in two words: ass kicked. If you are in need of some serious cardio, do this workout. It took me about 26 minutes. If you total up the burpees that comes out to 140. 😯
I had a new headshot taken this afternoon with my friend and talented photographer Wanda Koch.
After the photo shoot I headed over to Metropolitan Park to teach a free outdoor yoga class for Lululemon.
I was humbled to have almost 150 yogis in attendance. It’s really cool to get out of the studio and teach in a non-traditional setting to a diverse audience.
A huge thanks to my friend Kyle who is a recent graduate of the Y2 Teacher Training program for helping out and assisting. AND he brought me a green juice to refresh after class. How sweet is that?
My yoga family. So much love here.
I ended my awesome day with an outdoor dinner at Zoe’s Kitchen where I shared the steak/mushroom/caramelized onion and chicken/feta/spinach rollups.
Seriously, my heart might explode with gratitude. I am so blessed.
I loved this post. Great to hear you so happy. Awesome headshot btw!
thanks katy!
Gorgeous headshot! That is a huge class! I’ve had some trouble finding a class in my area of rural Mississippi. I’m going to keep looking though! 🙂 Enjoy reading your posts!
Very cool indeed!
Love this post Jen! Your food is as awesome as you! lol. I wish gorgeous salads were as easily available and affordable as they are here in Malaysia, where I’m from. I crave for them every time I see your photos. Btw, I’ll be starting on my yoga journey soon, so wish me luck! Keep the lovely posts coming 🙂
Cheers,
Michele.
hi michele, great to hear from you! good luck on your yoga journey and let me know if you have any questions!
Aww what a great post! I know I feel that yoga has brought me so much to be thankful for in my life and the people you meet through it become like family. So neat you got to teach an outdoor class! Looks like so much fun!
it’s so true – they do feel like family. i love taking yoga outside. such a fun way to mix it up and practice feels so different when you’re surrounded by the huge vastness of the outdoors and can see the sky.
I absolutely love your thankfullness and your positive outlook on life!! To find little blessings throughout the day is truly what brings Joy to us!!
Those roll-ups look fantastic!!
thank you so much andrea. as hard as it can be at times, i’ve really been trying to focus on looking at the good and positive and putting my energy towards those things.
gorgeous post! you are so loved! heading to wholefoods this morning for that smoothie. love the head shot, beautiful!
Very interesting smoothie – don’t think I have ever had dates in a smoothie before! I cannot wait to find out how they will break down in a home blender – great post!
i think as long as you have a high-powered blender you should be okay. there are still some little pieces in there but they go through a straw. i think they use the vitamix at whole foods.
You certainly did have a great day!! Your head shot looks gorgeous!! And your arms look super ripped 🙂 Yay for an awesome yoga class too 🙂 Great way to move into the weekend…
thank you tara!
This post brought a smile to my face. Your happiness just radiates through your words today. Awesome! Beautiful headshot and those outdoor yoga class pics are inspiring.
it was an amazing day! i’m so glad i could spread my joy to others! 🙂
That new picture is gorgeous! The lululemon in my town does free yoga in the park every Sunday mornings, but I’ve never gone. I think I should!
thanks cate! you should definitely check it out! i love how lulu organizes these community classes. it’s really cool to see everyone come together.
Love your new headshot, so beautiful!! And, I am super happy that you are so happy right now. You should be considering tomorrow is June 1 and it’s the best month ever!
here’s hoping it’s a good month! 😉
muah!
What a sweet post. You look beautiful in your new head shot!
thank you so much erin!
Damn girl. Those are proper ‘guns’ in your headshot. I hear a tutorial video on arms calling, perhaps with bosu or light weights…..
please oh pretty pleeeez…
the arms tutorial is long overdo! i need to get on it. gotta pick up those weights to tone the arms! 😉
AWESOME! XOXO
You look so beautiful and the headshots turned out great! I am so envious of your physique, especially your arms. Please make a video of your favorite exercises so we can get ripped guns like you!
i will! it’s LONG overdo!
you are glowing!!!
Great post! Please tell me what the neckless you are wearing in your headshot is. It’s very pretty.
Love your outfit! and yes anything outdoors vs inside is the best!
Awesome headshot!!
thanks julie!
It’s amazing how huge that class is! I can’t imagine teaching that. I’d be so nervous!
i don’t know what it is about yoga but i’m never nervous to teach…just filled with energy and excitement to be with my yogis and lead them through practice!
