8 Tips for Green Smoothies that Look Pretty and Taste Great
We’ll do this again in the fall but for now here’s a wrap up of week 4 and a recipe for a new fig green smoothie that’s my new fave.
Day 22
Green ginger smoothie with a little cucumber added in, dandelion tea and a Olive Oil Greek Yogurt Lemon Chia Muffin.
Day 23
PB & J green smoothie. Sullie says give me a sip!
Day 24
I deleted a bunch of photos from my iPhone to make space for a video…and I cannot for the life of me find or remember what I drank this day. By the end of the challenge all the green smoothies were blending together. 🙁
Day 25
Fig, almond butter, dates, baby kale, banana, almond milk, plain greek yogurt.
Day 26
Kiwi, mango, pineapple, coconut water, almond milk, baby kale, ginger and lime juice.
Day 27
My favorite standby of mango, pineapple, banana, plain greek yogurt, almond butter, spinach and almond milk.
Day 28
I got really hooked on Trader Joe’s new frozen figs for the last few days of Green Smoothie April.
3 frozen figs (Organic Green Figs from Trader Joe’s)
1 banana
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 cup almond milk
1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
1 cup greens (baby spinach, baby kale)
Day 29

1 banana
3 dates
1 tablespoon almond butter
1 scoop protein powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup almond milk
1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
1 cup greens (baby spinach, baby kale)
Day 30
Another fig and almond butter smoothie. Can’t get enough!
We’re now one week post-smoothie challenge and I’m still going strong. I think I’ve had a smoothie 5 out of the last 7 mornings. They are just the perfect breakfast for me. I’m excited to continue playing around with new flavor combinations. I have so many ideas in my head!
Again, thanks to all who participated and supported. Happy smoothie drinking!
I need to find those figs! Hope my TJ’s has them 🙂
I cannot get enough of green smoothies! I didn’t take part in the challenge but I have been having one almost every day!!
I might have to make my way over to Trader Joe’s today for some of those figs! I want to try them so badly!
I LOVE those frozen figs!! I just went this morning to buy 2 more bags. I’m afraid everyone will find out how yummy they are and they’ll sell out 😉
I think you left the greens out of your 2 fig smoothie recipes. Or did the green figs count?
I was wondering the same thing about the greens! 🙂
YES! i’m sorry! i corrected it. thanks for the head’s up!
I love the variety of smoothies! I have never thought to add figs to a smoothie but I bet it was delicious!
Mmmm about to make my green smoothie for the day!
I love smoothies this time of year. It is so refreshing and perfect for breakfast or a post workout snack.
Ooh I love fresh figs, though I’ve never had them in a smoothie. I rarely see figs at the store, so when I do, I usually get them as a treat. They’re so pricey sometimes!
Jen-I did something interesting to my favorite green smoothie (banana, almond butter, almond milk, kale, frozen peaches, and a little bit of plain nonfat yogurt). I added a TINY spoonfull of lowfat ricotta cheese. OMG it’s the most creamiest green smoothie EVER. The ricotta does something unique to the consistency and doesn’t add alot of calories if you just put a tiny bit in. 😀 SO GOOD!
