Happy weekend friends. I hope the week was kind and that you are feeling some ease going into the weekend.
I am back in Hershey, Pennsylvania for a weekend of yoga. I was here in January to lead a teacher training weekend for Studio B Power Yoga and I’m back to lead a workshop weekend for everyone that includes power yoga classes, backbends, inversions and arm balances!
I got in at 4:30p today and drove over to Carlisle, PA to teach a power class at Ethos Fitness. The owner took my training back in January and invited me to come teach at her studio. They were so lovely and welcoming and class was awesome! I arrived at my hotel at 9:30p and now I’m doing what I do best in hotels…watching HGTV in bed.
I usually don’t feel like blogging at 10p on a Friday night but I really wanted to stop in and say hi. I’m feeling extra grateful for the connections and opportunities that this space has brought my way and I wanted to say THANK YOU. Whether we’ve connected in person, via email, through social media or not at all because you’re a silent reader…I am GRATEFUL for you.
And just know that meeting and connecting with you guys is my favorite part of all of this so please feel free to reach out…and let me know if I need to come teach yoga in your town. xxoo
A few things I wanted to share from this week…
I was only home for two days but I spent as much time as possible outside and with the dogs. We went on lots of walks and spent a lot of time on our patio. New development…Finn thinks putting leaves in his mouth is super fun. Haha.
The whole crew at the park. Finn’s new thing is waving and waving to the dogs is by far his favorite.
Finn was in the pack and play while I was vacuuming and getting ready for the house sitter and I turned around and found him like this. Of course I had to go pick him up. So freaking sweet.
I have been doing so much running (for me) the last couple of weeks. It’s definitely the most running that I’ve done since having a baby. I don’t know if it’s the weather or my head or what but I just want to run. I totaled up my mileage for the last week in my head today and realized that I ran 20 miles last week. I don’t know the last time I did that!
It looked like…
Saturday 7.5
Sunday 3
Tuesday 6.5
Friday 4
TOTAL: 21 miles
The first three were with no stroller and in Florida. The last was with the stroller and Zoey in Charlotte. All were flat and in gorgeous weather.
Last thing to share…I’m so excited to see Dan Harris speak in Charlotte next week. I listened to his book 10% Happier last fall. HopeWay is hosting Dan in Charlotte as part of their mission to educate the community and normalize the conversation around mental health and overall mental wellbeing. You all know this is a topic that I am passionate about.
Dan will be speaking about his own journey with depression and anxiety and how meditation and mindfulness helped him in his recovery. I will be attending the event and hope that my Charlotte-area readers will consider attending too!
Here are the details on the event and how to purchase tickets.
Okay, time to hop in a hot shower and get ready for bed. Big day tomorrow! I am teaching a 75-minute class and leading two, two-hour workshops!
Have a wonderful weekend!
What are your plans for the weekend?
What has been your workout of choice lately?
Have you ever thought about doing a “mom meet-up”? Where Charlotte mommas bring their kiddos for a stroller walk on the Greenway, etc? It could be a great way for moms to get out, exercise, socialize and form a community!
It’s raining and cold here so we are staying in. I’ve been weight lifting mostly!
hi Jen. I am so enjoying watching Fiinn grow up! My exercise of choice is Crossfit. I am in my 3rd year now and just feel like I am hitting my stride. I am 61 years old and wish I had found CrossFit years ago. I love the mental and physical challenges it proviides.
I have been following you for a short while. Found you while I was prego. I have a question for you. With all your travels how do you stick with a bed time /sleep pattern for Finn? We are working on sleep with my 41/2 month old. Some nights we do well and others not so much. Just curiouse.
Hi Casey! Thanks so much for following and commenting. Congratulations on your baby!
While we do have a bedtime “routine,” we don’t have a super strict bedtime. It’s usually somewhere between 6:45 and 8:30 p.m., depending on the night and what’s going on. Also, depending on when his last nap of the day was. Bedtime routine is dinner, bath, pjs, books, lights out, nursing, rocking, bed.
Finn is a flexible little guy, thank goodness. It makes life much easier given that he sleeps in two different houses/places in Charlotte and travels with me a lot. <3
Good luck, sleep is such a tough one. I didn’t get super serious about routine and bedtime until he was about 6-7 months old. It’s hard!
