The past couple of days have been all about the upcoming holidays. I can’t believe it’s all happening so soon! We’ve been working on our holiday charity efforts and planning the staff party at work, I had a holiday photo shoot for the yoga studio and one of my dear friends is hosting an event this weekend where I’m hoping to pick up a cute dress to wear to all of these upcoming events.
We had our annual holiday photo shoot for the yoga studio yesterday. It’s always so much fun and we end up with really creative shots. Be on the lookout for a new holiday header and social media profile pics soon. You can check out my Twitter and Facebook for a sneak peek! ๐
For my Charlotte area ladies, my friend Sarah Baucom is launching her new online boutique tomorrow with a pop-up party at Gallery Twenty Two in Plaza Midwood. She’ll have tons of fabulous dresses and accessories for the holiday season along with cupcakes and cocktails. Can’t beat that for holiday dress shopping! I will be there tomorrow so come hang out with us!
And for those of you not in Charlotte, Sarah and I are going to work together on a giveaway for PBR readers so get ready for your chance to win a gift certificate to Social Dress Shop!
Meals have been totally uninspired lately. After swearing off salad last week, I have eaten salad almost every day this week for lunch or dinner.
And I seem to be on this kick of putting an egg on top of everything that I make at home. Whole wheat cous cous with chickpeas, broccoli and spinach topped with cheddar and an egg.
See? Roasted sweet potatoes (white) and brussels sprouts with feta and an egg.
Goal for next week. Menu plan and cook.
I have a jam-packed Saturday so I’m off to enjoy unwinding this evening. Anyone else already starting to get bombarded by holiday talk/events/prep? Eek!!!
It truly does feel like it is early and the holidays are kicking off this weekend, but I have to admit that I kind of love it! I just love the cheer in the air that always fills the holiday season ๐
Holidays seem to be in full force here, too. I am not at all ready!
I love putting an egg on top of everything! It seems to complete a meal and I like using the runny yolk as a sauce. Also, love the holiday photo! You look gorgeous as always <3
Great picture with the Christmas lights…I love the contrast of the plain background and the multi colored lights. What kind of camera did you use?
i use a nikon d3100. it’s all the photographers credits for setting it all up! that was just my rookie shot!
I love you, Jen! I heard about you blog through Luckie and Co. coworkers…I started working there after you left, but Rich Albright told me about your blog – you are such and inspiration to me and I read your blog everyday. I actually just tried your Creamy Shrimp, Prosciutto and Mushroom Pasta tonight – to die! Thanks for all you do…and happy holidays! -Claudia

Ugh – cupcakes, cocktails, and dresses – how did I not see this post sooner! haha Hope you had fun. ๐
The photo with the Christmas lights is awesome.
And I’m guilty of contributing to the holiday overload, I’ve been listening to Christmas music since last week!
haha – that’s awesome. i think i’ll start after thanksgiving.
