Today is a fun day for Brandon and me. It’s our one year anniversary of closing on our house!
One year ago we left this…
The temporary apartment that we lived in for 10 months while we were house hunting. Can you believe that I did the majority of my 68 Days of Gourmet project in this kitchen? Notice there is no counter space…or dishwasher! It was not ideal!
Packed up the car…
And popped champagne in our first home!
We were so excited about our new house that we “camped out” the first night.
I can’t believe we’ve been in the house for a whole year! We had a really long and hard house hunt with several houses that fell through but we have said to each other a million times that it was so worth all the drama to end up here. We are so happy with our first home!
We have a pretty long list of things that we want to do to the house this coming year so expect more house-themed posts coming! ๐
Now for today’s update.
I set my alarm with the intention of practicing ashtanga this morning but I was up until after midnight last night and just wasn’t feeling the 5 a.m. wake up call. I ended up sleeping until 7:30! Oh well…
Breakfast was {unpictured} overnight oats at my desk and I came home for lunch.
Leftover quinoa from last night’s dinner topped with Greek yogurt and avocado and served over a bed of spinach. Strawberries and fizzy water on the side.
My snack before teaching BodyPump was an Odwalla Chocolate Peanut Butter protein bar and an Honest Green Dragon tea. BodyPump was good tonight but the Thursday class numbers have definitely been dwindling a bit since the weather has gotten nicer and the “Alive After Five” happy hour events have started! ๐
Brandon requested tacos for dinner (the boy would eat tacos once a week if I let him!). I agreed so I could feed him quickly and then get him on his way to go watch the NFL draft with friends. I had no interest in watching it tonight!
Soft tacos with organic ground chicken, organic refried beans and fresh corn (first of the season – good!). I wish I could say this was it but I definitely went back for round two on tacos!
HAPPY FRIDAY! This Friday marks just two weeks until our vacation in Jamaica. I’m getting so excited!
I could eat tacos at least once a week too! They are the best. ๐
Congratulations on one year!! I can’t wait to be a homeowner.
Aww congrats on your one year!! Your house looks AMAZING, and I can’t believe you did your Gourmet project in that tiny kitchen!! And YUM I haven’t had tacos in SO LONG!! I need some in my life! ๐
it was a challenge in creativity and patience to say the least!
congrats! Its fun to look back at all those memories. Happy Friday friend.
Congrats! We’ve been in our house almost 2 years and it went by so fast. When I walk in the door I still can’t believe it’s our house ๐ We love it!
In (almost) 2 weeks my husband and I will be in Ireland. Hooray for Spring vacations!!!!
I am soooo excited to hear about your trip to Ireland. It’s one of my most favorite places EVER!
That’s great! Looking forward to seeing some house updates!
Aw yay for the house -iversary! I’m leaving my first apartment today so I totally understand ๐
Hooray for house milestones! Your salad looks delish and as far as the tacos are concerned, I think its your moral obligation to have more than one. Tacos aren’t meant to be enjoyed in abundance ๐
Yes, I’m pretty sure that the taco gods demand you eat at least two! ๐
Your first home must hold so many special memories!
Congratulations! Wow, I can’t imagine how it will be to have my first house. That’s awesome.
It has been forever since I’ve had tacos! We just got some sweet corn the other day; I hope it is good!
Congrats on the house!
It’s been almost 5 years since we bought our first house, and I remember that first night like it was yesterday! If/when we leave this house, I’ll cry like a baby. So many memories!
And now I’m craving tacos!
Catching up on some posts…congrats on it being an entire year! I can’t believe that went by so fast! Have fun in Jamaica, it looks like we’ll be vacationing around the same time ๐
