Good morning! It is cold and pouring down rain again here in Charlotte but I’m determined not to let the weather get me down today! This has to be the last push of cold weather…April is just around the corner.
I didn’t get my post up last night because Brandon picked up Love and Other Drugs from the Red Box. I have mentioned this before but I am terrible about sitting through movies. I usually blog during them and end up having no idea what happened. I decided that I would actually turn my computer off and watch the movie (which admittedly was made easier due to Jake Gyllenhaall’s starring role ๐ ).
Love and Other Drugs wasn’t amazing but it was easy to watch and entertaining. I thought Ann Hathaway was great and there were some really funny scenes. Note that this is NOT something you’d want to watch with your parents or kids! Has anyone else seen it? What did you think?
We had leftovers from the taco fiesta for dinner.
I made a quesadilla with chicken, black beans, spinach, tomatoes and cheese. Topped with plain Greek yogurt and salsa. Quesadillas are kind of like omelets in my book…you can just throw in whatever you have in the fridge! Great for using left overs.
I subbed another yoga class after work (the same one as last Tuesday) and it went really well. Brandon has been sweet to come the past two weeks and has given me great feedback. He said that last night’s class was a 100% improvement over the previous week’s. I even had several people ask after class when I teach regularly so I think that’s a good sign! I am encouraged that I’m going to get this yoga teacher thing down! It is certainly very different from teaching my normal strength training classes…although last night I did challenge them quite a bit with abdominal work! ๐
I wanted to get my own workout in after class (I do not participate with them – I just walk around the room as I teach and assist) so I took advantage of sunny skies and mild temperatures and ran. I knocked out four miles and they felt easy and fast. I love runs like that!
I packed a salad to eat at my desk for lunch.
Spinach, mushrooms, strawberries, blue cheese, apples and dried cranberries. Dressed with a homemade balsamic vinaigrette. I love the combination of strawberries and balsamic. I had a piece of toast on the side and a mini PB&J Larabar for a snack.
And wrapping up yesterday’s eats with breakfast.
Banana coconut oatmeal. I am loving this new combination! Recipe is here.
I leave you with the tea tag from my Yogi Green Tea Kombucha (best tea ever and the tags always brighten my day!).
“If you don’t love where you came from, you can’t love where you are going.” Life is a beautiful journey!
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!
Love and Other Drugs left me with 3 thoughts:
1) Now I know why I loathe, and try to avoid, drug reps
2) Wow, that was a lot of (too much?) sex
3) Holy crap, Jake Gyllenhaal is gorgeous! ๐
And, by the way, that salad looks divine!!
I saw the movie Love and Other Drugs in theaters…with my mom! Holy awkward situation Batman. Good movie, just wish I had not sat through it with her.
Oh my gah – I can’t imagine seeing that with my mom! I’m sure it was awkward!!!
What great encouragement from your yoga students! I’m sure it feels so good to put what you’ve learned into practice.
I love when my yoga teacher throws in ab work! So continue to do that ๐
Too bad I don’t live closer, I would love to come to one of your classes!
Thanks for the feedback! Even though you should be engaging your core throughout the whole class, I do enjoy adding in extra ab work! Last night we did a long plank hold, bicycles and boat to canoe.
I totally wish you could come to one of my classes!!!
You live in Charlotte? I am actually coming there next weekend for a school trip (we are visiting 3 companies – IBM, Danaher, and Corning Cable) – I hope the weather clears up ๐
Ally – I do live in Charlotte! Let me know if you have any questions before your trip!
I haven’t seen that movie, but I really want to. On the same line of romantic comedies, I really want to see No Strings Attached. Looks cute. ๐
What a great quote. Do all of Yogi’s tea’s have little sayings on them?
Oh…I’ve heard good things about No Strings Attached and I LOVE Natalie Portman.
Yes, all of the Yogi Teas have sayings on the tags. They always bring a smile to my face!
The best movie I’ve seen lately is Morning Glory- so cute and I love Rachel McAdams.
And I agree- omelets and quesadillas are for using up leftovers- YUM!
I cried a little at that movie… I’m such a sucker ๐
So glad to hear your yoga classes are going well! I’m moving back to Charlotte for a few weeks before Canada and I’d love to come to one of them!
Jackie – I would LOVE to have you in class! Let me know when you are here and I’ll send you my teaching schedule!
I am the worst at sitting through movies!! I am such a busy-body!
I love when a run feels easy and fast!
Your post title cracked me up, I’m the same way!! Except instead of blogging, I’m falling asleep, or folding laundry, or picking up around the house – I just can’t sit still I guess!
Will you cook for me? Everything you make looks so darn delicious!!
What a wonderful compliment – asking if you teach regularly is definitely a good sign!!
Aren’t Yogi tags the best? I keep all of them ๐
I love the Yogi Tea sayings! The taped the ones I liked and found inspiring to my computer screen at work ๐
Saw it. Hated it.
<3 Jake but was over it when Anne Hathaway decided to get naked every 5 seconds. That ruins a movie for me.
I did a whole post about this movie all because of Jake—> DROOLING! OMG he’s beautiful to me. But yes, I would of <slightly? died if I would of watched this with anyone who I am not comftorable with. this movie had a lot of sex and plus, the movie wasn't even that great :/. I just loved jake ๐
Haha, I CANNOT sit through a movie either! It drives my husband crazy, especially because I’m usually the one to suggest a movie, but never sit still… they rarely hold my attention. I much prefer tv.
I always struggle through movies at home….too many distractions…and I was a film major! Ooops!
