It was back to reality today but I love my reality so it was a happy Monday! 🙂
I kicked off my day with a 4:55 a.m. wake up call to train clients. I ate half of a banana with almond butter and made a cup of Every Day Detox Tea to take to the gym with me. I gave up caffeine in the early morning again a month or so ago in favor of tea. It’s a vicious cycle! I usually do have a small snack when I get up this early because I can’t make it through multiple clients until breakfast without something to hold me over.
I trained clients at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30. I’ve been training my clients for so long that it’s like catching up with friends. The three hours flew by and they all left tired and sweaty! I came home at 8:30 a.m. to make coffee (finally…praise jesus!) and a green smoothie with peanut butter granola. I went five days without a smoothie so I was a little overly excited about breakfast this morning!
I spent the next couple of hours working on things for Charlotte Yoga. One of which was marketing support for our upcoming Valentine’s Day classes. We’re offering special classes for couples and singles and I can’t wait!
I trained a client at 11 a.m. at Metro and then headed to Charlotte Yoga for our weekly management team meeting.
I came home for lunch and made a salad with mixed greens, pears, walnuts, avocado, dried cranberries and deli herb roasted turkey. Carrot soup on the side. After lunch I ate the other half of this morning’s banana with some chocolate coconut peanut butter.
I spent the next two hours on the computer in a mad rush to answer as many emails as possible. I also took some pauses to appreciate the cuteness (and hugeness) of Zoey.
I had a yoga private at 4:30 p.m. and then taught my Monday night hot vinyasa at Charlotte Yoga at 5:45.
It was so amazing to walk into the studio and see all of my students after a week off of teaching. I had a sell-out crowd tonight of 50 yogis and sadly had to turn some away. 🙁
The energy was incredible and I was so fired up that I stayed to practice and took the class after mine. I was a sweaty mess after flour clients, one private, one hot class and practicing. It was such a great day back at it!
I got home around 8 and prepped dinner while I chatting with my grandmother. I didn’t really have a plan going into it but after opening the fridge, I settled on chicken with pepper jelly and goat cheese, rosemary roasted sweet potatoes and roasted broccoli. So good. Happy to be back in my kitchen.
Now I’m watching Suits and blogging before I turn in for the night. I have an early client tomorrow but the rest of my day is light and perfect for catching up on work and life! 🙂
Let’s be positive! What was the best thing about your Monday?
I worked from home today because it snowed 18 inches in Chicago last night and the highlight of my day was fitting in some movements and healthy eats throughout the day. Usually when I’m at home I get sucked in to work, don’t move much and snack way too much. I was proud of this!
working from home is so cozy but glad you got to move around a bit too! hope you’re staying warm!
I’m an avid reader of your blog and I really loved the title of this post. I love Mondays because they really do set the tone for the week. My favorite part of today was taking thing easy by doing less and focusing more.
hey lorraine! thanks so much for reading and for the kind words! i love mondays too and agree that they set the tone for the whole week ahead. good for you for slowing down and focusing. much more productive that way!
Although it snowed a foot and I had an exam on Monday, at least I got it out of the way 🙂
oh my gosh! i can’t even imagine a foot of snow. i am so not used to that living in the south. hope you’re staying warm and that your exam went well.
I love that you love your reality. A few years ago I was not okay with my reality, it was just okay to me. I then had the intention to build a life where I would love its reality. Finally I am here.
Love your choices for dinner. I need to spend more time in the kitchen this week!
jenn –
thanks for this comment. it totally made my morning to read that you did something about not loving your reality…and that now you do. you hit the nail on the head with the word “intention.” we have to take control and decide what we want and work to get there. i’m glad you’re there.
We were snowed in so just enjoying a day at home was amazing!
so cozy! i don’t know what it’s like to be snowed in! i think i’ve had maybe 2-3 snow days like that in my life! we don’t get that down here much.
Making the best of this relentless snow storm here in Boston! Must say the best part of my Monday was playing board games with my family. We munched on leftovers I made for the superbowl. Jen you’ll love this. I made buffalo chicken dip but a low fat version and no one could tell the difference! Then instead of just chips I cut up a bunch of different veggies to have with it and while the guys weren’t all that pumped about it the ladies loved it!
linda – wow, that snow you guys had is crazy! i am glad to hear you made the best of it though. a day of board games sounds really fun. i actually really enjoy playing them!
i love your buffalo chicken dip swaps! sounds totally perfect and i always LOVE when no one can tell the difference! 🙂
Your salads always look so tasty! And inspiring!
I spy white nail polish…I got shellac on Friday with white and some sparkle. 🙂 I surprisingly really like it! Best part of my Monday was getting a nice 4 mile run outside on a chilly morning, instead of opting for the treadmill. It was cold, but it felt really good to hit the pavement.
Hi! I love your blog and I’m usually very content by reading it and not commenting. But for some reason I did not get any of your pictures and I enjoy your pictures! Where the pictures should be it’s blank. Did this happen to anyone else? I still have the pictures with all your other posts. But not this one. If I click on the empty square where the picture should be it says both error and I don’t have permission to view. I’m on my kindle fire. I don’t know if that matters. And unfortunately, I am technologically challenged. So I’m stumped.
