I know I have been MIA but the combination of a busy work week and a special project (please pray it sees the light of day and I get to share it with you!) have kept me away from the blog.
Let me give you a quick download on what I’ve been doing.
First, the workouts.
Thursday…Interviewed a new CrossFit coach and did a WOD with her.
21-15-9
Power Snatches
Box Jumps
Hand Release Pushups
And taught BodyPump later that night. I usually NEVER do CrossFit on the same day that I teach BodyPump but had no choice yesterday.
Friday…hot yoga scaled way back. Some days I go all out, other days I kinda move slow and stretch.
Second, the eats.
I arrived home for lunch yesterday to discover a package from Chobani with samples of their latest flavors and offerings.
– Chobani 0% Pear
– Chobani 2% Banana
– Chobani Bite Fig with Orange Zest
– Chobani Bite Coffee with Dark Chocolate Chips
Chobani is definitely a leading brand when it comes to social media and blogger outreach. I have felt so honored that they’ve reached out to me over the past couple of months about the holiday cooking event and new product samples. This is a brand that I love and buy all the time anyway so I’m happy to support them and I wholeheartedly recommend their products to everyone.
I taught BodyPump last night and had dinner plans after. Showering and getting ready away from home has become the norm for me. I think it’s safe to say at this point in my life that I’ve become an expert bag packer and I shower as much at the gym and yoga studio as I do at home. My friend Lauren gave me a turtleneck dress she wasn’t ever going to wear so I was excited to try it out for dinner. I love clothes swapping with friends.
Dinner out was sushi. So much delicious sushi. All of this plus plates of sashimi and nigiri. It’s so fun to eat sushi with big groups of people!
Breakfast this morning after training a client was my new banana Chobani (it’s awesome with big chunks of banana) along with pumpkin spice granola, bananas and peanut butter.
I had a lunch meeting and ordered a salad with spinach, chick peas, hard boiled eggs, mandrain oranges, artichokes and goat cheese with honey mustard. I also had a cup of roasted red pepper gouda soup that was really great.
And dinner tonight wasn’t really photo-worthy but exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, all of the running around and long days this week have left me with the beginnings of a cold. No surprise there given all the junk that’s going around at the gym. I wanted really simple food to wrap up the week. Rotisserie herb chicken from whole foods with a five-grain blend and collards.
What’s your favorite Greek yogurt flavor? Plain is my #1 choice followed closely by Chobani Pineapple and Fage Cherry Pomegranate. Chobani Banana might be a new front runner though!
Chobani started in my area… even if they did not, I would love the company as well for their great yogurt. Fave flavors… Vanilla Chocolate Chunk and Mango.
i haven’t tried the vanilla chocolate chunk but that sounds delicious. mango is a good one. very cool they started in your area.
Love love LOVE Chobani! We don’t have it here in Canada, but one time they graciously sent me a case of assorted flavours to ‘tide me over’ until my next trip to the US. Another time, they sent coupons! 🙂
that’s so cool that they did that for you!!! they are such a great company!
Ps. Chobani pineapple is my fav too!
Ahh I can’t find the Cho Bites anywhere and they sent me coupons for them!!! So jealous… and that spoon is too cute! I’m trying out CrossFit tomorrow for the first time and can’t wait!
i haven’t seen them in the grocery stores around here yet so i’m excited to have a sneak preview. how was your first CF experience!!!???
Plain is my absolute fave! I love flavor combinations to the ends of the earth, but when it comes to yogrt i’m kind of a plain jane. I love plain yogurt on the tart side with a little bit of raw honey : )
i love plain because then you can doctor it up and flavor it on your own!
All the new Chobani flavors look fabulous! They really are one of the few companies I’ve noticed that is seriously dedicated to connecting with customers/bloggers/etc.
i agree and in a really authentic way that doesn’t feel “sell-out” but more engaged and creating a brand experience.
Trader Joe’s vanilla. Once you’ve had it, any other vanilla tastes fake!
i struggle with vanilla yogurt because so much of it does taste really off and artificial. good to know!
Pineapple is my all time favorite – I can’t wait to try the new bites too! I hear they are super yummy.
Chobani is the best! I usually get vanilla, pomegranate, and apple cinnamon, and I’m dying to try pear and banana. 🙂
i’ve yet to try apple cinnamon. is it really good? i haven’t tried the pear yet – excited!
MMmmm I am also a huge Greek yogurt fan, and plain is my favorite too! Boring, I know, but I like to add my own mix-ins. Even though I usually go with plain, I find that I honestly like all of the flavors I try! I hope your cold doesn’t come in full swing!!
i agree – plain is perfect because you can flavor it yourself! the cold did get icky but finally got some medicine today and it’s helping.
I love Chobani’s lemon and blood orange flavors! Pineapple is good too. I was able to find the banana but haven’t tried it yet. I also found the new Chobani flips that was coconut Greek yogurt with almonds and dark chocolate – a delicious little treat!
Also, you look great in your sushi date outfit! Do you mind sharing the brand/style of the boots if you know? Thanks!
i haven’t tried blood orange OR the flips. OMG, those sound delicious!
my boots are from j crew. they’re the booker boots. i got the gray color on sale when they were discontinuing it.
Cherry pomegranate is my favorite Chobani flavor along with strawberry. I always go for rotisserie chicken on weeks that are busy and I’m feeling a little blah too. Super cute dress!
thanks heather! was pretty nice to get for free! 🙂
So excited about the new Chobani flavor! I have been LOVING the overnight oats and I think this would be delish! Love your blog… 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
thanks for reading and taking the time to comment dana! 🙂
I eat either 0% or 2% plain Fage. I haven’t tried Chobani…sounds like I need to! Sometimes I just eat the yogurt with a little wheat germ post workout and other times I make a breakfast of it with Smart Bran and fruit, fresh frozen raspberries or bananas.
That looks like some good sushi! Sushi Guru??
yes, sushi guru. LOVE that place. i love fage too but try chobani for a change.
I’m a fan of Stoneyfield Greek, vanilla, but I wish it wasn’t fat free. On the other hand, I like the fact that it’s organic and lower in sugar than a lot of other flavored greek yogurts. I think I’m going to make my own yogurt next time, though. It’s been a while since I’ve made it, but I love being able to add in whatever I have on hand to make my own flavors!
alice – it can be tricky to find greek yogurts that are flavored and not full of sugar. that’s why i usually end up with plain and flavoring my own. homemade yogurt…love it! i’ve never attempted!
I cannot wait to open mine when I get back from Austin. I honestly am a fan of just plain, because then I like to dress it up with whatever in the mood for. But I am willing to open my eyes and try something new. Have a fabulous weekend! XO
i’m so jealous of your trip to austin. tell me next time you are jetting off. i totally agree with you on the plain but don’t mind the flavors to mix it up from time to time.
I can never get over how amazing your food always looks!
You listed most of my FAVORITE things: pump/PLAIN chobani and sushi!! I like my chobani with a scoop of peanut butter and cinnamon sprinkled on top 🙂
i like anything with a scoop of peanut butter on top! 🙂
Do you ever make smoothies with greek yogurt? I’m scared to try it because i think it will make my smoothies too thick!
i do…i have added a big spoonful (but not nearly a whole serving) to several of my smoothies lately.
