Lately I’ve gotten into a really nice weekend groove where I’ve had plenty of time for running errands, farmers market trips, yoga practices and most importantly…being at home where I can get things done around the house, bake, cook and relax. There has been a ton of work done to my house and yard over the last few months and it feels so good to pull into the driveway and feel excited and happy to be home rather than stressed over everything that needs to be done. I will share some before/after photos with you soon!
I am currently enjoying a cup of chai tea with coconut milk and agave as I write this post and try to decide on a baking project to tackle when I’m done. I’m thinking maybe some sort of pumpkin cookie.
When I make tea at home I usually use loose leaf teas and my ingenuiTEA pot. It’s so easy to use and I love to see the dried tea “bloom” as it steeps.
Lunch prior to tea time was a sandwich and salad. I’ve loved my sandwiches this week because I got this awesome honey sunflower seed bread from the bakery. I decided to switch things up with my salad today and made a homemade honey mustard instead of balsamic. It was tangy, sweet and just a little spicy hot from lots of Dijon…just the way I like it!
I was thrilled to have 90 whole minutes to spend on my yoga mat this morning. It’s been weeks since I’ve been able to make it to anything longer than a 60-minute class. I really love the longer classes where you have more time for standing flow and then floor work at the end. I felt so open today and had a wonderful practice. I practiced every day but Thursday this week so it’s been a good yoga week for me.
I was up around 7:30 this morning to work on a yoga-related project before class. I had a bowl of oatmeal and coffee to help wake me up. (My UGA bear says GO DAWGS!)
So let’s talk about last night…I went to George’s Brasserie for some of their amazing mussels and crusty bread (admit it, part of the reason you order mussels is for dipping the bread in the sauce…I swear I could drink it) along with a glass of red wine.
The plan was to have an appetizer before going to Lululemon for some after-hours shopping. They invited the ambassadors to the store after close last night to check out some things that were 30 percent off of already marked down prices. Wine + Friday night + Lululemon = TROUBLE!
I decided it was a good idea to come home with bright yellow Wunder Unders. I’ve steered away from the colored Wunder Unders trend in favor of black. Black is easy and always flattering. Well, I certainly took the plunge into color land last night. Go big or go home! At one point when I was trying things on last night I was told I looked like a box of crayons! 😛
I also picked up a beautiful bright blue jacket that I can’t wait to wear all winter long. I ended up getting both things for about 50 percent off…which is a major steal at Lulu. Has anyone else jumped on the colored Lulu pants trend? I’ll post a picture when I wear these bad boys for the first time! 😉
I’ll leave you with this fall sky picture I snapped last night as the clouds were breaking after a rainy day and the sun was setting. I’ve been Instagram-happy this weekend!
Wine + LuluLemon would be such trouble for me… Their Wunder Unders are my favorite and I love the yellow! Good choice 🙂
Honey sunflower seed bread sounds amazing. And those yellow pants are awesome!! You will totally rock them!
I loooove Lulu’s. A bit pricey, but worth it because of their awesome quality! I love wearing bright colors to work out. I think it gives me so much more energy and happiness. 🙂
the quality is so worth it! i’ve never thrown any of my lulu stuff away and washed it hundreds of times!
So jealous! I’m actually heading to LuLu right now
did you get anything good!?
I am so in love with LuLu. It’s such a problem though because I don’t get paid the best at my job… I’m dying for a pair of the loose fitted Studio Pants. They had them for sale for $86 a couple weeks ago but I was furloughed and couldn’t get myself to do it.
Maybe next paycheck I can reward myself 🙂
the studio pants are awesome! i have one pair in black and love them! definitely worth the splurge when you can swing it!
I have too many pairs of Wunder Unders!! BUT my new obsession for hot vinyasa is the In The Flow Crop – I have about 5 colors! 🙂 And you can’t beat the discounts for sure – enjoy!
oh haven’t tried those. thanks for the heads up!
Oh and I think they had some summer/ early fall colors on 30% off too 🙂
So fun!! What a fun treat to be able to shop in Lulu with wine and a super discount! 🙂 I can’t wait to see what your baking project turned out to be…I am so in the mood to bake with all of this fall weather!
Wow wine and LuLu would be a very dangerous combination for me! Love the bright yellow pants!! Enjoy your weekend 🙂
I’ve just stuck with the black ones so far, but I think the colored ones are so cute! My shirt collection has a ton of color though haha!
My very first pair of wunder unders were bright pink! Still love them 🙂
I rarely comment on blogs in general, Jen, but I just want to say: you emulate such beauty, both inside and out. I don’t follow many “lifestyle” or “healthy living” blogs (actually, none other than yours), and I really enjoy yours.
laurie – your comment made my sunday morning. thank you so much for taking the time to write it. your kindness is much appreciated. <3
Well, it’s true! I’m going through a rough time and know you’ve experienced the same, and I feel like if I knew someone like you in real life, I could find strength to grow. I hope to meet someone like you in my life.
email me if you want to connect. xo
I know what you mean about enjoying coming home and not being stressed. I’ve been the same boat lately. I’m not to a point where I can sit down and actually enjoy my evenings and weekends. The chores and to do list are not so overwhelming!
that’s awesome holly! i’m glad we’ve both reached that point!
HAHA! Those pants ROCK! I’ll have to see if the Lulu here has that yellow. I am all about bright colors, but I definitely chicken it out when it comes to actually making the purchase. Maybe wine would help…Enjoy the rest of another quick weekend. 🙂
What is the name of the pose you are doing in the yoga picture? Looks like it feels so good!

low lunge. it’s a great stretch for the hip flexors. tight hip flexors can cause low back pain. in the variation here i added a little backbend in.
I love that blue top! I haven’t been brave enough to venture away from my usual black pants…maybe I’ll try liquid courage next time! 😉
haha i totally recommend it! 🙂
